So I bought an NGR BOV and its all nice and installed and works very very well, only problem is I did the single spring mod to just use the big spring only, now when I accelerate it goes as normal but it has this after whistle like its pushing the valve open inside and letting air pass through but I'm not sure what it is, the rear lower nipple is not capped either, I can't seem to dial it in to stop this from happening unless its fully hard but I don't want it like that as I don't get that sound.

So would my only option be to re-install the smaller spring as well and that will fix it or would it not make a difference? I just don't know about this WHISTLE after as its really high pitched for about 3-4 seconds sometimes longer unless I tap the throttle

I had the same problem. You could either take out the spring you have in now (larger) and stretch it, or add the small spring and loosen the adjuster all the way. The whistle is happening because the spring is not keeping the BOV closed at idle. At any throttle change mine would whistle so i stretch the large spring, now it is perfect. I have NGR BOV too BTW

Oh I thought it might be because the spring, I was not sure so I thought I would ask, I think I will just put the small spring hack in then, but why do people say to take it out and do this single spring mod if it does this. I shall put it back and then hope it fixes it. Cheers for your insight,

Most of the time it is for people with less vacuum (if you have aftermarket cams). Even with my BC 272 I need more than just the single large spring. I would give the 2 springs a shot (Make sure adjustment is all the way loose). If your getting surge then give the large spring a little stretch and put it back in by itself. This is what i did. The 2 springs were giving me alot of surge and now its fine with the stretched large spring. Good luck! :thumb:

Ok I will try stretching it first then go from there, will the spring need to be re-stretched after a period of time to stop it from going loose/compress again

I put it on something to keep it stretched, then i heat it up and then cooled it off pretty fast. It seems to have been a pretty permanent stretch. Its only been like this for about a week, with no apparent change.
