You can check out my mods in my profile so far. I am getting my manifold ported and the flapper mod installed on my turbo next week. So, I am starting to save up money for my next mod. This is going to either be DSMlink so I can start tuning my car / stutter box / logger and all that fun stuff that comes with it. Or.. I can get new 17" rims with some nice tires as right now all I have is some stock 16" eclipse rims with some old tires that are starting to get bald. Either way.. one will come after the other. So which should I get first? I am going to go ahead and estimate a one month or so gap between the two upgrades.

On one side I really want to tune my car and start logging it well so I know everything is ok.

On the other side I can't really get anywhere with bald tires. Plus I don't think that spinning tires in an AWD is great for the center differential.

im in the same situation... i say DSMlink if u plan on going that route... awesome mod and cant hurt, plus your car looks good as is :thumb:

I voted rims, but not for for the rims... just tires. Actually, screw the rims, buy GOOD tires for your stock wheels. Go 215/50 for a little more stick. Tires will cost you ~$400 total then you can save up a few hundred more for dsmlink...

I was going to saw FMIC and injectors would be the best buy but I guess you wouldn't have any way to control the larger injectors...

I vote you should do DSMLink, you may not have a use for it now but...it is one of those supporting mods that you wish you would have done. I went through the same think wondering if I should get dsmlink or turbo and I chose the dsmlink first and I am glad I did. I was able to get familar with the program and tune my car properly. Its a fun program to use and once I did upgrade my turbo, it was easy for me to tune the turbo and and use it to its full potential a few hours after the install. Also with the dsmlink you can get big injectors and just dial them in. Wont need to worry about idling problems or running to rich from large injectors. You will need to fine tune after you dial them in but that doesnt take very long. Also you can get rid of all your emissions stuff and not worry about your check engine lights anymore. Just my .02 cents from experience.

Is your suspension really still stock? If so, i'd say get some shocks and springs, or coilovers (even though it's not a vote option). I'd think that would help with the spinning, but if your tires are bald, maybe add some tires in there too..

With that big16g that you already have.. well, that's like a bodybuilder that has a huge chest and arms, but has skinny little girlyman legs.

you bring up a good point. How vital is suspension in 1/4 mile runs on an AWD? I do plan on upgrading to a 50 trim (AGP RS49?)(FP Green?) when my B16g goes down. more traction obtained with stock 16" rims? not sure if bigger rims with less profile tire decreases traction or not.
