Hey guys, I'm having trouble thinking of the next mods to buy. The catch with my situation is that I currently have a gst and plan to buy a gsx in a couple of years when I'm done with school. Until then, I'm just trying to buy the parts that I can put on my current gst but be able to transfer over to a gsx, so they must be interchangable (ie no tranny). Anyway, I have posted my mods below. If you can think of anything that would be beneficial, please list it....Anything! An example is the 1g n/t throttle body I have. Someone recently mentioned to me that it will help eliminate boost leaks. It's not really necessary, but helps. (I am not planning on changing out my turbo/manifold setup until after the gsx swap, so please ignore that.) Horsepower goals are around 550-600 whp.

Engine

Wow, that's an awesome mod list! I'm not sure what your goals are, so I can't recommend much to you other than one thing: Some lighter wheels/tires to reduce unsprung weight?

Brakes have crossed my mind. Are they interchangable from gst to gsx? Are gsx brakes insufficient?

I believe only the front brakes are interchangeable. I know on my 1G, the rear's for the AWD were different than the FWD brakes, causing the car to not have an emergency brake. But the 2G's may be different, not sure. GSX brakes are good, but they are not designed to bring that kind of speed to a stop safely (by safely, I mean real fast to avoid injuring all those mods!!).

Deffinatly brakes for your next upgrade. What else you can do is poly suspension mounts, shocks, CF hood/hatch. However on a GST you want to have weight on your front tires LOL. You could also go COP a well since you have an upgraded ignition.

Brakes sound pretty good. I think that might be a good option for me. The other things are pretty good ideas too...except for the COP, which is a downgrade.

Thanks

Nick, are you running 93 octane or E85? Looks like you've got a good setup to go E85 if you haven't already.

Without an ignition box then yes, it's a downgrade as you cannot get proper spark attained with the stock coil pack. However with a new box you can get a stronger spark for higher boost (larger gap) assuming the ignition works properly :p

Not to mention it cleans up the bay and looks nice :coy:

It does seem you have some massive wires on there and your setup works fine regardless.

Running 93 now, but built the fuel system specifically for E85. (Good thinking)

Ahhhh. Well, thanks for clearing that up for me. Either way, I'm trying really hard to keep the engine bay looking extremely sleeper-ish. So COP is out. Here's a relatively new pic. (Missing radiator) (I know it's a small pic, but you can't really see any parts unless you're really trying to find them.)

There is lots you can do to upgrade still.
Better FMIC
Better SMIM
Bigger Turbo
FP manifold or something else.
Meth.
Aluminum radiator.
Brakes
I didn't see any suspension said?

if your goals are to spend shit tons of cash. congrats, youve done it.

to make your power goals, most of that crap is nowhere even necessary. hell most people dont realize hp numbers come from small motors revving high as nuts... stroker bring the power down lower. doesnt look as cool on a dyno plot.

you arent going to make 600hp esp at the wheel with a 46 lb turbo.

Better FMIC: True
Better SMIM: I like mine
Bigger Turbo: Already addressed in original post
FP manifold or something else. Already addressed in original post
Meth. Do people run meth with E85?
Aluminum radiator. I already have one.
Brakes Already addressed.
I didn't see any suspension said? Is any of this transferable?

I like the stroker since my goal is to have that hp in a very streetable car. Needing to rev to the moon on a daily basis would be annoying as shit. And again, the turbo has already been addressed.

Lastly, I've replaced enough parts to know that I'm tired of replacing parts. I finally decided to buy parts that are better than my immediate goals. Hence some parts that are more than necessary.

Then don't expect to go anywhere with your current setup. Geez. Was this more of a what can I do next or a show off of a list? Because I'm not impressed.

As stated... he already addressed the Turbo point of the setup.

"Geez. Was this more of just trying to help out or how big of a dick can I be? Because I'm not impressed."

... And just in case.
