yeah, was sup everyone i have recently recieved a 96 eclipse gst from my uncle everything is clean and i have very little knowlegde bout it. it has bout 86,000k. I was wonderin wat kind of turbo it was and wheter it was a 7 bolt on turbo and pretty much wat i would need to do to beat an evo8 or if it was even possible(the reason i want to beat the evo8 was cuz a girl chose the other guy over me cuz of his car so please help) also fil free to give me any tips on how to maintain my car and wat i should do or need and i am plannign to go all out with this car. thank u

You have a FWD 2nd gen eclipse. It has a T25 turbo. It is a 7 bolt. You will need every mod in the tuning guide to beat an evo 8. You will also need to be a good driver. You have much to learn and have come to the right place to do so.

^^agreed^^

Anyways, some basic things that would let you at least keep up with an EVO 8 would be in the upgrade path on this site. At least stick close to that and you should be on your way.

^^^ This is some funny sh!t. ^^^

Just hang out on this site for a couple hours daily and you'll eventually learn everything you need to know. :thumb:
As far as beating an Evo8, that'll take lots of work. You have FWD with a T-too-small turbo, and he has AWD and 60+ more HP. It can be done, but do it for yourself and not for some chick. :dsm:

Follow the upgrade path here on tuners. Spend time with the car maintanence.. make sure everything is running correctly before modding, don't just assume it is. The first mods you should do is get an aftermarket boost gauge, then boost controller and free mods. Lastly, don't listen to your friends, they most likely don't know the first thing about your car.

check out the sponsors(esp the dsm specific shops like SBR :dsm: ) ,check out their sytuff, compare prices..print out the tuning guide and compare..then ask questions to see if someone can pint you in the right direction when it comes to quality and prices of parts.

just spend a weekend surfin those sites and checking em out..many a time they will also have packages put together so whatch for those to save you some $$$ :thumb:

Yeah, you can learn TONS from this site alone. I am fairly new and I must give props to all on this site who know their stuff. After a month of belonging to this site and reading on topics, I feel I know EVERYTHING there is to know about my 2g. ;) Maybe not everything, but I guess no one ever does and that's what makes the world go-round.

You got a good car and it won't be hard to outrun an EVO. I've spent maybe $1,000 on mods and, while I don't have proof yet, I feel I'm already there.

Get rid of the t25, it sucks. A 16g(evo III) with supporting mods probably would let you hang with an evo. Supporting mods being full exhaust, ported everything, boost control, and some sticky tires. Dont know if it'll do it for sure, but you should be over 300 horse at that point. Oh, and a fuel system

ohh nad a fuel system likeits no big deal hahaha .

Ok , I had a stock gsx got a BOOST GAUGE. then MANUAL BOOST CONTROLLER.then FULL 3 INCH TURBO BACK EXHAUST. then WAL BRO 255 AND S-AFC. then ORDERD MY FMIC BIG 16G AND 550 INJECTORS. mind you this is all over a nice amount of time. but it will all come together. and dont do stuff backwards. how much money do you have ? ihave a new s16g for 400 bucks. good luck and yeah shes a tramp is thas why she went to that dude.

Dude, 96eclipsegst#1, Please, PLEASE do us a FAVOR and proof-read your posts for spelling and grammar before you post further! I find it hard to spend time helping someone that won't even spend the time to proof-read their posts. On another note, Welcome to the Tuners. Evo's are formidable cars, but they can go down. :)

LOL , ehhh not yet haha. a touch up on tuning and a clutch I should be in good shape....but ill do what I can for you LOL again how much do you have to spend ?

Duude... can you reply to all the people and thank them in ONE post? Its kind of annoying to read thru your post 5 times thanking someone (like an acceptance speech at the academy awards). Any ways, good luck with the car. First off I suggest getting your car checked out by a mechanic... no point in modding your car only to break down at the race with your evo (Then you'll really look like a chump). Evo can definately be beat though, although it's gonna take a bit without the AWD train, but I would suggest checking out 2g upgrade path by Road Race Engineering. Lots of info and definately worth the look see.
