ok so this is what i got 1991 eagle talon tsi fwd got it for cheap
has aprox 85,000kms on the motor

1-highbeams worked than changed altenator belt and some fuses and taped up all the loose wires from the retard that wired the stereo now they wont work

2- going up a hill hit a small bump headlights went off for about 2 seconds than came back on same with dash light but dash lights came back on dim and stayed on dim all night i shut the car off and started it back up through out the night going places. the next day they dash lights dont come on at all (just the lights that light up the cluster)

3-was changeing my hks honeycome filter cleaned the grime out of the intake annd cleaned out the intercooler and tightend up all the couplers now its hitting 20psi was hitting 14psi befor

p.s how can i lower the psi
[PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

U should b able to lower the psi on ## bov. I have an aftermarket greddy type bov and that's how I adjust the boost. Turn the bolt on the top left to lower psi. I don't know about the wiring maybe u have a loose wire somewhere? I hate electrical problems. Ugh

sounds like loose connections since you hit that bump and everything went off and off. without seeing the car I cant really tell you what is wrong or where you should start looking. I would get a volt meter and go to town, that really simplifies it and will tell you where your problem is. And if youve never done that before, its a good quality to have and learn!

I've never heard of someone "adjusting boost" with their BOV. I've heard of adjusting the boost with a boost controller.

As far as the electrical... check out your battery. If it's not tied down, when you hit that bump your battery may have hit your hood and grounded something out. So recheck the fuses and things too.

ok i got one i just got to figure out how to use it if i uploaded a bunch of pictures of it and the wiring mess behind the steareo also my aftermarket boost gauge went out than just came back on a few days later could it be the dimmer switch i taped up all the wires for the stearo and checked the grounds that i could find

battery is tied down tight just changed 90% of the fuses and just changed one of my fans because my breather tube for my rad overflow tank got caught in the fan and killed the motor and kept blowing the 30amp fuse

why would you wire stuff to your stereo it is not designed to handle more than it's made for, it will blow fuses like crazy. Rewire every thing you wired. Best place is the cigarette lighter. As for your boost, make sure the boost control solenoid is hooked up, if you have a boost controller make sure that's turned all the way down and have the hoses routed correctly.

i didnt wire the stereo when i got the car the stereo ws just sitting in the slotwith a few wires conected and a shit load just hanging i just used electrical tape and taped up everything and ive looked and looked for a boost controller and i couldnt findout could the wastegate be shimmed open?

Exactly what i was thinking. Are all your vacuum hoses still connected?
If the wastegate was open you wouldn't build boost at all and your car would feel completely gutless.

as far as i know they are but i will check

so the wastegate is fine? what else could it be it was at 14psi than i took off the intake and cleaned it out and the intercooler and cleaned it than put it back together and made sure everything was tight now it hits 20psi

so i checked all my fuses and there all good and i checked all my valcume lines and there all good

i dont beleive you can adjust boost with a bov, youl need a boost controller to boost it lower, but you cant boost it lower than ## wastegate which is 9psi on 1g 14b i beleive. try looking for ## boost solenoid to see if u have a boost controller, also u shouldnt be hitting that high psi without fuel cut on stock 1g unless its a spike and surge.

The wastegate actuator could be binding or wastegate itself can be stuck closed. I would buy a used book with wiring diagrams or search some PDFs for schematics on what wires are around the radio. Maybe the wires were cut and twisted together and taped kinda deal, aka connection issues as stated. I would start with disconnecting the radio and reconnecting it with solder and heat shrink or quick connectors you can crimp. Then see what wires are not supposed to be cut or connected.
