Newbie needs peformance suggestions

Hey all, I am currently resurrecting a 95 tsi awd talon. The shop is intalling the motor for me and it is bone stock with only 62k miles on the new motor. I've never owned a DSM or a turbocharged car before and I would like to know what parts or upgrades should get if I'm looking to achieve 300-350hp. Thank you for your help in advance.

GET dsmlink for tuning! its going to be one of the main things you will need. also make sure that the motor has a new timing belt/water pump/oil pump/ tensioner installed before they install the engine. if its a engine out of a 62K car then it will always be good to replace them so you dont have to worry about that kind of stuff later down the road.

What turbo are you using? the stock t25? This turbo will not be good enough for 300HP. If you check the dyno section, the highest HP on that turbo (that is recorded here at DSMtuners) is 267WHP

A turbo such as a 16G/20G/T28 would be very nice turbo to start out with in a DD

Injectors you will need will be at least 550-750

Also you will need a walbro 255LHP pump (ive seen 190's are good as well but if your getting one and think you may want more in the future then go with the 255)

I would upgrade the SMIC to one that saturates heat better. Also you could upgrade to a FMIC as well.

Hard piping for the intercooler is known to help out a bit. also a good air filter like a K&N.

As mentioned, basic maintenance first, and then when you've finished that the upgrade paths in the "tech" section on this site are amazing guidelines on where to go. If you read through them you'll know exactly where to start for what type of setup you want.

Upgrade Path, learn it.

Set a goal for your car and follow the upgrades path to get there. Please do not start your upgrade path with putting a bigger turbo on. Start with the supporting mods then turbo.

its simple. first do all the matenece then upgrade your fuel system fuel pump first a 190 or a 255 will work. if 255 then you will need a FPR. 550cc injectors will work. all hard piping with a small front mount, then get a 14b or a evo 3 small 16g. also a boost controller and a boost gauge. 300hp is so simpleim running 250hp on mostly stock parts. a vacuum delete will help out. it will give you 1-2 extra psi. and get rid of your maf and get the gm maf

Definitely start with the maintenance work. Start with upgrading the intake and all exhaust components then work your way up to fuel, turbo, and tuning. Evo big 16g should be a big enough turbo for that hp and still a good streetable turbo. 255lph fuel pump and 650 cc injectors should work well with that also...
