Hello DSMTuners!

LoKey here from Arizona! I've been after a 2g GSX for a very long time and have the opportunity to pick one up. I have been lurking a bit here to do some research and learn all I can before committing to the purchase. Basically searching on commonly known issues related to built DSMs and trying to be sure I am prepared to ask the right questions. Looking forward to meeting a few people and learning a lot!

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. As long as you are willing to help yourself, you will get a lot of help from the members here just like I have. Its a very "warm" crowd so if you have questions, search and if no results, post up your stuff and make sure you have an up to date profile for everyone to see. These monsters are a lot of fun and a lot of upkeep...but a lot of fun!!!

Thanks! Yes I generally see that if you can use a search button and don't beat the dead horse, people are generally nice. I'll get the profile up to date and continue my searching. I am getting that these cars are quite a bit in the upkeep department through what I have been reading but it is one of my dream cars as it has been since I was 16.

You are kinda right but if you get the general maintenance done, then it's a lot smoother sailing. As you upgrade, you will come to issues such as tuning just to mention one but there are pro tuners right here that are freelancers that can help, for a fee usually. If you keep your car stock you will have a nice fairly reliable ride. It's a good platform to mod if you do them correctly. There are some paths that you can follow for upgrades for 1G and 2G's and 420A powered cars too. You won't be disappointed, but all fun comes with a price.

Welcome, you won't be disappointed. As everyone already said, just keep up on your maintenance, and do some searching. Ive found so far most of my question have been answered before, probably a few times! I believe this site has the best information and people for DSMs! Again, welcome!

Glad to see another AZ DSMer! :)

We've also got a regional forum for every part of the country, not much tech in them but as far as meets and local member intro's it's nice. Phoenix Area DSM's
