newb found a talon...Should i get it

well im a total newb to the whole dsm world but i have been researching them for about a year. I just found a 1992 AWD 5-speed talon tsi w/ 153,869 miles on it. the guy is selling it for 2,500 and i was wondering if that was a good price (assuming it is in pretty good driving condition). also do u think i would be able to lightly mod this car with all those miles? i was think maybe stage one mods before a rebuild. now of course i would do all the neccassary tuning before adding any modifications to it. tell me what you think

i wouldn/t touch it unless you ahve money for a rebuil.putting mods on that kind of mileage is just insuring that your going to need a new motor that much faster.if you wait it out im sure you will come across a better deal. i got my 96 for 7000 and it has 6000 on a new motor.

I was gonna make this exact post, but the one I'm looking at is a 91 with 100,000 miles. It's pretty cheap. As far as I know it needs a steering knuckle and fender. How difficult a job can that be? I've done it on chevrolets, but nothing with a drive axle in it.

yeah i wouldnt get it unless your going to put out money for a rebuild. ut other then that if its good then jump on it!
