Alright so I changed out my valve cover to one I recently painted and FREE of cracks unlike the previous one. New gaskets all around, just seeing what your opinions on how it came out are!

But more importantly while I had it off I took some photos of the cams and everything and was wondering are these the stock cams? Also, is there supposed to be that much oil in the there? Although I've had my dsm for about a year and a half now, I'm finally starting to feel pretty confident tearing it apart and re-assembling everything from when I first got it and had no mechanical skills what so ever.

Also, I attached a video of the car idling after I tidied everything back up and was wondering if the ticking was just simply lifter tick or something more worse like knock? The lifters did tick before but just not as noticable and would go away once it got warmed up. Currently and since I've had the car I've been running Mobile 1 full synthetic 10w-40 high mileage but I will be switching to Brad Penn 20w-50 after I stumbled upon the lengthy conversation on oils in another thread!

Thanks in advance!

Look stock to me. And yes, the oil is supposed to be there. There are spots in the head that will only drain when they get enough oil in them. That's why its important to keep an eye on your oil level. Get yourself a factory service manual and you will be able to do just about anything you want to the car.
