Car is running fine and I did a decent tear down today for some cleaning and a bunch of maintenance when I realized, I've never even looked at my timing belt or anything. Just wondering what your opinion are on how these look...

Thanks

I don't at the moment just snapped that one but i can get one of the belt tomorrow, only thing I noticed was that my valve cover is leaking and I already knew that just haven't been able to find one, but looked like the oil was leaking behind the cam gears.

Planning on doing my gears/t belt soon anyways but just wanted to check for now till I get around to them.

When it comes to timing belts: When it doubt, replace it. Timing belts rarely shown any noticeable signs of wear before failing. I would just replace it sooner rather than later.

Yeah I'll admit it's been on my to do list by far way too long. I bought the car last march not running, had been sitting in a field for 5 years. According to the odom. it has 185,670 as of right now and I believe the turbo is starting to go along with some other small things. I went over it real good because I've picked up some parts I've been wanting to throw but finishing up the basics before and it appears it had a bigger turbo on it before along with other stuff but then was put back to stock where then I ended up with it.

yeah it is indeed, it's fine to run it without the top of the t belt cover right?
All of my other belts have been replaced but the t belt.

in all honesty i would replace it i was in the same position with my dsm. i had the motor up out if it retiming the car and putting new pulleys on it my timing belt look brand new but i went ahead and replaced it. you dont wanna have a fresh sick build this your belt break and then you looking at rebuilding the head. replace the balance shaft belt also if your gonna do timing
