My 14b took a crap the other day on my way home from a friends house so I bought an Evo 3 16G. I put it on yesterday and went to drive it expecting it be quite a bit of difference but I really think the 14b pulled harder. Im confused but my car overheated and I was a few miles away from home so I kept going after I checked everything out. Im starting to think that I blew my headgasket. I know i shouldnt have kept driving it after it overheated:beatentodeath:. The turbo has an adjustable wastegate arm on it could it not be pulling because its not adjusted right? Or is it because of a blown HG. There is no coolant in the oil and I'm about to go to a compression test. Just let me know what it could be. Thanks in advance.

Are you running wastegate pressure? What are you tuning with? Also how did you fill the coolant after the install??

thanks for the fast replys guys. i put a hallman on it and set it to about 14 lbs. im not tuning with anything but i have a datalogger and everything is checking out fine. i ordered a walbro 190 and im gonna be ordering some injectors soon so ill have to get some tuning stuff along with it. but im still curious as to why its overheating. i put a new thermostat in it and it still overheated. then i pulled the thermostat out and got the same results. not sure whats goin on?

did you "burp"(getting all the air pockets out) the cooling system? if not it can cause you to overheat quite easily

i did have the car running and warm when i added more coolant. it took some and then it would spit it right back out. i cant see any coolant when i take the cap off when its cold either. im not sure whats going on.

Yeah dude, the ones I repair with quality internals (rather than the junk they came with) then resell on eBay. You got it! Laugh it up....how many turbos did you rebuild last month?

Then why are people making threads about the fcuked up turbos you sold them? I see your auctions all the time, they're pretty convincing. I'd rather stick to something brand new.

you're kind of going off on a tangent in this guys thread.
Ive never seen any complaints about jusmx's turbos.... care to provide a link to one of these threads where there was a complaint?

I can't see how anyone would create a thread to bash a turbo I sold them without contacting me first.

I stop at nothing to see my customers satisfied....anyone who's ever had business dealings with me will gladly oblige. I currently know of just (2) turbos I rebuilt which failed prematurely in the past year or more. One had excessive wear of the journals in the center housing, the other was completely full of metal from an obvious engine failure. I installed all new parts in the second turbo and sent it back to the customer at no cost to them even though the turbo's failure was completely unrelated to my work. I ate the parts cost.

My motivation is getting messages like this in my inbox- "Hey jus thanks for the turbo man it is amazing. It looks brand new. I just got everything done today and just went tuning on e85. 29psi 20* advance and 0 knock. This thing really moves."

The customer in the link you sent contacted me last week and we've worked everything out, even though I still have yet to get the turbo in my hands to see what actually happened. He doesn't have a place to work on his car right now, but as soon as it's in my hands I'll handle everything accordingly.

The interesting thing is that he claimed it last 100 miles or so before it seized....any experience I've had with bad turbos is that they die IMMEDIATELY; like within 3 miles.

Anyone have any idea what would cause a turbo to die and seize the shaft around the 100 mile mark?

Lack of oil due to metal in the turbo from a dying engine component. It's the reason that 99% of the turbos I rebuild kick the bucket in the first place.
