So I just put in a new spec clutch, as well as a tre built trans with 1-4 double synchros and a 10% higher 5th gear. As soon as I went to drive the car I noticed I was grinding 5th and 3rd, so I went to adjust the master cylinder since I assumed the clutch was just dragging some...

Unfortunately I backed the rod all the way out to the last thread and more adjustment is needed.

This is a symptom of having a bad pedal assembly correct?

Ive heard mixed reviews of how bad the process is, so could someone with first hand experience here let me know how bad this will be?

Thanks,
Eric

Try pushing your clutch in a couple times, then wait for five seconds or so, then reach down and pull up on your clutch pedal.
If it is able to be pulled up, it needs to be replaced or rebuilt.

there is also a great video on Jacks transmissions website on proper adjustment for the clutch
