Look for an article about an auto to manual swap. I hear its a pain though since you have to get the steering column out of the way to get the pedal assembly out.

I swapped a clutch pedal assembly in to my auto and I didn't have to remove the column. Remove the seat for room to lay down. Good set of extensions and swivel sockets and you'll be fine.

On a 2G, it is a real pain in the A$$! I had to do it on my car. You have to crawl up under the dash, disconnect the clutch linkage, pull the master cylinder and the plastic kick panel. Then there are 4 bolts holding it to the firewall. 2 on each side of the assembly. The 2 on the left (drivers side) are a real pain, because you can't really seem them that well and they are almost against the side of the car. You will need a swivel socket and a 6" or longer extension. You will also need to carefully get it past the assorted wiring harnesses that are there…I think if I remember it is the harness coming out of the fuse box. Getting the new one in is worse, because those 2 bolts that you took out on the left with no clear line of sight and a swivel socket now need to go back in…ugh! Good luck, take your time and don't try it at night…like I did.

I'm gonna try this cause I can't get the friction point an inch off the floor .The adj rod is alread maxed out.
