I'm having issues. I seen many threads for this I know but none I could find what could help me. I replaced the radiator and the top and bottom hoses. But now I'm overheating fans turn on after the needle is a little over half way.
My confusion is this. Top hose gets hot, and bottom does not, and being a noob I have no idea how to fix this. :( my radiator cap is a 16psi and idk anything about it or the thermostat... Any way I could hurry to find this problem? I need the car for school in the am.

It was cracked. All seals where replaced on the engine a week or so ago. I think that included the head gasket. But should I replace the tstat and where is it located and how do I remove it. (I'm uneducated about this stuff. :()

Alright just got the thermostat. I'll put it on and let you guys know

The tstat I got does 195, is that ok or to much?

I agree with the thermostat replacement first and foremost if it has yet to be done. 195 should be stock temperature and will be just fine. Let us know how it goes. :thumb:

Alright so update.
I got the new tstat in with a 3/32 drilled hole. (pressure sure I mean it's smaller then a 1/8)
Ran car to temp but couldn't drive it. Good news no over heating. Both hoses where hot. Top being hotter since I turned it off after a few min of operating temp.

I noticed a few drips of coolant from my bottom hose still(after new radiator and hose. All my hoses were tight and I got a bigger screw driver to find out they could have easily been more tight(power of a 5inch long one vs a 2inch. XD I couldn't get to the bottom hose without a jack and it's to late to try. Tomorrow after school I will be tightening it and driving it to work. Hopefully it goes well!

Thanks for the help so far, I'll stay updated about the news.

Sounds like a problem solved. Looking forward to your next update. :)

Took her for a drive around the neighborhood and let her idle for about 5minutes.took long to warm up but so far she's doing just fine. Thank you everyone for being so nice about a newbie question. :)

Drive to school and work. Everything is fine. :D but I am still leaking from the rad/bottom radiator hose. I tightened it as much as I could and they both are new. Any idea? Should I just force tighten it? I think I can get it a little tighter I'm just afraid to crack the radiator
