ok so i finally got my boost problem solved... and now 4 days later i have another problem, i hit boost this morning after warming up and the car suddenly jerked and now it only will hit ~10psi at 4000-5000 rpm and it makes a strange wooooooooh noise under boost i looked a little later under the hood to notice my dipstick popped out a little.... could it be my pcv? or what? im just trying to make my car run so i can drive it without fear of it dying on me. i am having my friend who knows blowby better than i do look at it tomorrow i may be unable to find a compression tester at that time so i need some ideas on figuring this out.

Okay so these engines do get some blowby this is normal for the age, anyways try using a catchcan, or pcv delete, or get a new oem pcv not autozone. Also this is caused by too much pressure causing oil to escape, so i would do a compression test for sure.

on a side note one of the vendors makes a dipstick that has this spring on it that doesn't allow it to fly up and let oil escape.

hope this helped.

its hindering my performance greatly though i dont get 10lbs until 4.5-5k rpms (i should be getting 15 by 3500)

went to start care this morning and look at it again in better light after i warmed it up and looked for blue smoke out exhaust i noticed some oil splatters on the ground by the muffler.... which means its shooting oil out the exhaust.... WTF DOES THIS MEAN! none of my friends have a compression tester so were all up a stream with no paddle.

im pretty sure it means there is oil getting through the valves or the piston rings. valves dont cost too much and you would only have to take off the head.or actually maybe the turbo is shot.

those are pretty much your options

turbo or engine needs some rebuilding.

I called the DSM shop and MAC autosport (best performance shop in state) and told them my symptoms and had them guess, they agreed with me on piston rings with no further questioning. several of my friends also agree with me on piston rings one has a 2g tsi and the other has a 94 lude built with 4g63 awd setup they have both had similar symptoms and it was the damn rings.

Turbo has very very minimal shaft play side to side, absolutely no in out. I had just replaced the wheel and turbine housing on it. i just looked into that yesterday thinking maybe it broke on me but nope still solid as ever. any ideas on where i can get a cheap assembled engine (doesnt need to be special just stock) or where i can get a cheap rebuild kit? i dont want a damn china one though i do want it to work well. i looked at DSMgraveyard and saw a green franken block for like 1300. no head on it but they say its been built up to handle what most dsmers will throw at her that is a consideration but at the same time Im on a tight budget and i need my car to run ASAP. so any other good ideas for places to check would be greatly appreciated.
