There are several things i've noticed to be wierd on these logs, First obviously is the knocking, this is pretty low amounts of boost, and my motor wont handle it.

1. Why do my injector pulse width go down as fuel demand goes up? I can see it leaning out, but why at such low boost?
2. Several times you will see the rpms drop by 100 or so, then come back up during the pull, This shows up in the log, but everything was smooth during the pull?

Mods include
Small 16g
Rebuilt motor, ross pistons (8.5:1)
Balance shafts removed
Rewired stock fuel pump
RC 550cc injectors
Timing set to 4 degrees in an attempt to reduce knock

What you all think?

I would spend 90$ and uprgrade the fuel pump, well worth it IMO. Chances are it is running out of capacity on the 16G. Its also colder this time of year and will cause your car to need more fuel too. I would appear that your injector pulse width is not near maxed out so the fuel pump/pressure is likely the problem of the lean condtion.

I have a walbro255, but when i put it on, the car sputters over 4500 rpms, Almost like its putting out the fire with too much gas.

and why is my injector pulse going down as the demand goes up?

When you installed the 255 did you happen to install a FPR? The lack of one could cause this issue you have had. The stock fpr can not deal with that much fuel or pressure so the excess is not being returned to the tank, instead it is just being forced out of the injectors at a much higher then desired rate.

As for the knock it is likely that your current FP is going out, as FP get old they get weaker and start phasing out for breif periods then returning, it will eventually just stop working.

I replaced the stocker once already, and then again with the 255, then went back to the replacement stock pump. Knock has been there the whole time. Even with the 255 during the sputtering

damn dsm

The answer has been given to you. The stock pump is running out of steam. The injector pulsewidth drops off suddenly when the pump can no longer supply the demand of the injectors. Install the 255 with an FPR or sell the 255 and buy and install a 190, which you shouldn't need an FPR for. Bottom line, you need more fuel. Hope this was helpful.
Aloha

I agree that you need an AFPR on that 255 pump. But I find it strange that your running out of fuel at only 9psi...just wondering how much air you were moving at 9psi (how many #'s per min?)

I also think there maybe something else going on. Either way start with an aftermarket AFPR as everyone suggested.

You might want to back off the timing advance based on your first set of logs. Not sure what kind of tuning electronics you have but, keep in mind you can manipulate the timing curve using an AFPR and SAFC.

The second logs you seem to be running lean, although I believe those 02 readings are acceptable on a 1G.

Your seeing my point, this shouldnt be happening at 9 psi on a Small 16g. I dont have a SAFC or anything to manipulate the timing or fuel. I shouldnt be flowing that much more air than stock, since its all stock except the turbo (induction wise) What really gets me, is seeing people push 16 psi on stock fuel systems, and mines takes a shit at 10. Gonna buy a afpr when i get the cash, and see how it goes

Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of reading in the tuning section because I'll be tuning my car in about 2 weeks. I was wondering if the fact that simple is running 550s without a tuning device would have any relations with his problem? If so, how? I'm just learning, thanks.

Well...I cant get my logger up and running, and I have seen other member's logs but dont remeber. Post a log with the 255 pump in. And see if the injectors width decrease.

What were your new mods? I skimmed the thread quick but didnt see anything about a boost leak test. Do one and see what happens, if it was your turbo upgraded its very possible you have a boost leak somewhere.

I have looked for a boost leak, and i think there is a small one still hanging around, but unless my logic is wrong, would a boost leak not cause it to run rich and not lean? The turbo was put on when i rebuilt the engine. I took alot of care to make sure everything was tight on the intake side.

I'm starting to just think, that The slight increase in flow from the 16g turbo, combined with the raised compression of my ross pistons (8.5:1) is just causing it to need more fuel. I'm really at a loss as to what to do other than getting an AFPR, and walbro 255, that and fixing any boost looks i may have.
