Ok here is my new log that I hope I did correct, temp was 74* degrees, I was in 3rd gear the entire run. And screamin.

Ok I turned my boost down to 17psi(spiked at 21)then went right dwon to 17psi and stayed(no creep).

Ok fine, If I can't get any help or advise on what my logs look like, how about some advise on how to understand and read a log on my own, any sites other than RRE. they explain what the ecu and a piggyback/safc do but do not explain what logs to shoot for etc..

You should be tuning for no knock. From what I can see from your logs, you're off to a good start, unless your knock sensor is bad and doesn't register any knock. As far as o2 values, unless you're using a wideband sensor, don't even bother with them, and if I'm not mistaken, your ecu disregards o2 values at wot. Besides, when I had problems running lean, my o2 values were still overing around .85, if that tells you anything.

As far a what to look for when logging, these are the important values (in my opinion) RPM, knock, FTRL FTRM & FTRH, timing, air temp, & coolant temp. Knock is the important value. If you have occasional spikes of 3 or so, don't worry about those, just keep an eye on what your knock levels are on your 3rd and 4th gear runs.

TMO has a very informative FAQ on how to read logging values, and they have a link on tuning techniques. Take a look at their stuff, they can better explain it than I can. :talon:

Thanks So Much, I did not think of TMO, I will check them out.

As for the knock, I did a log yesterday afternoon when the heat was around 90 and my fuel psi was a lot lower at 38, it is about 41 now. I think I was leaner yesterday when I was getting the knock in 4th gear around 5500rpm, it got up to 20 or so for a second and then went back down. But none today. Thanks

Any experienced tuner will tell you that pump gas is very inconstient. Even if you use 93 all day, the quality of fuel can vary from station to station. I've had runs where I've recorded knock counts of no more than 6 at WOT in 3rd and 4th gear, and other runs, I've gotten as hig as 16. Keep in mind that I didn't fiddle with anything, other than fill my tank at a different station. Get to know your fuel stations and see who has the best quality, and use their gas. :talon:

Thanks for the advise about the gas, I allways get 93 oct gas from the same QT(quick trip)
, i guess I am ahead of the game ;)

I did some more logs today while I adjusted my SAFC, and I have the car running great now, I had my first real race yesterday with my wifes brothers new 03 Mach1 mustang and I beat him easy, we had a short race a few weeks ago before my new turbo and I got him off the line but he was gaining on me fast, but this time I jumped him by 2-3 car lenths and ran even for a few seconds and then I started waliking away, once my boost got around 16, I am shocked at how fast this car is right now. Those tuning sites above are great, I 've been learning a bunch. Later Bob :dsm: :thumb: :talon:

There are lots of other factors other than different 93 gas from station to station. If you log during the middle of the day in high heat, your logs will be different. At night, colder air. Back to back runs heat up the intercooler, and will change logs. There are just soooo many variables, other than just the consistency on the 93oct gas you are using.

Your log looks good. No knock, timing advance, I think those are good o2 voltages for a 1g car, but like it's been said you can't really trust o2's. You seem to be on the right track. Just watch out for knock in the heat of the day or if your intercooler starts heat soaking. Are you running stock injectors? You probably don't need to ajust the safc much; you could almost leave it at zero.

Black 99gst, thank you so much for the reply, I have been reading up on tuning a bunch latley but I still wanted to hear from someones advise about my logs, One thing I have learned so far is all dsm cars are differant, I can not belive I have good numbers/logs so far without setting the safc yet. The crazy thing is I do not even hit fuel cut either
(the free mod screens are pulled) I can't remember witch ones. And so far I have only gotten a little knock once in 4th gear @about 5000rpm, and since then I turned my boost down 2 psi and no knock anymore, I think I am off to a good start. I am going to go to the track saturday and get some time slips :thumb: I really hope I at least get a 13 or lower, like I said I beat a new Mach1 mustang and they run around 13 even(so he said)
And yes I have 450's in but I do have a set of 550's I had in but took out. I know this sounds stupid and I am sure I am wrong but I think my car feels faster with the 450's.
Anyway thanks again.
