So I just did an engine swap from a engine with turbo pistons, racing cams to a stock engine with turbo. eclipse 98 gs-t spyder btw.

So the car runs like shit right now, I had an apexi neo installed but just disconnected it to see if i could reset the ecu completly to make it run good, but it didn't help. I do have a walbro 255 fuel pump on, could that be why it runs so bad?

on the highway i was going between 55-75 the whole time. I can barely give it gas before i starts to stall on me. It is really bad in idle. It also start to come out a lot of white smoke when I start the car.

on my stock turbo gauge it shows that my turbo kicks in as soon as it gets gas, supposed to do that?

When idle, if I turn A/C on my car goes really tough, almost dies and sometimes it does die. Also when I turn the A/C on while driving, the car performance gets even worse!

any ideas what I could do to get it better? change the fuel pump? replace the ecu?

Thanks guys, reaaaally neeeeeeeed help :banghead::D

When you got the new engine, did you replace any gaskets and do a compression test? Is the smoke white or does it have a bluish tint? White smoke indicates burning coolant. Also check to see if the oil looks like a milkshake.

Did you double check to make sure all connectors and hoses are hooked up and in the proper location?

most of the gaskets were replaced but not all I believe. I have not done a compression test tho, how do I do that?

no blueish, just white smoke is coming out.. And I have doubled checked all connect many times.

thanks for your fast respond!

okay, but will that make the car go like sh*t?? and there is no sign of a leak under the car, and just for the record, smoke is coming out from the exhaust and not the engine, don't know if it matters or not..

Yes, that's bad. Smoking white means you are burning coolant. More than likely your headgasket is bad which should have been replaced on the new engine. Check your oil and see if it looks like a milk shake. Foamy/frothy and off color. Take the rad cap off and turn car on and see if bubbles come out. That means that exhaust gas is getting into the coolant and both of those mean you have a bad head gasket.

If you search for compression test there should be something to show you how to do it. Check out VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions, good information there also.

I agree on the blown head gasket, but the 255 without an AFPR is going to put you at richer than needed AFRs. Just something to consider after the head gasket repair.

I'm also going to associate your A/C problems with the head gasket as well. When you turn on the AC it puts more load on the engine which is noticable and yours is already struggling as is. Once you replace the HG and it's still stalling when you turn on the AC let us know.

I had a serious white smoke issue too this is what solved it for me.
1. The coolant will not leak under the car but rather into the cylinder(s). The way to test the head gasket without taking the head off is called a combustion leak test. It is a kit that chemically tests your coolant for the presents of fumes that have leaked out of the head/block interface. I can sell you mine on the cheap if you want. Scotty Kilmer has a good vid on it. (sounds like you problem but was not mine.)
2. Brunt up or leaking oil seals in the turbo. Allows oil to leak into the turbo, therefore exhaust Get new turbo seal kit and rebuild. (This solved 90% of it for me. Turbos last about 80k depending on how you drive)
3. Compression test. I hate to say it but you have all the signs of damaged piston rings in the new engine. (The last 10% of my problem.)
