Hi, I am going to apologize in advance for the length of this post, but i recently purchased a 92 gsx, but I blew the engine
I have 2 choices on what to do. I can either buy another JDM engine for 1500 shipped from a local place, or buy and evo ii engine from the guy who is going to do the work. The car is getting the work done at a local dealer and the tech working on it is the guy I bought it from. The evo ii engine is 2700 which is 1200 more, but it has had all the belts and seals replaced, new intake and exhaust gaskets, and is swapped to water cooled. Plus it comes with a b16G, 550cc injectors, better intake, and I wouldn't have to buy a 2g exhaust manifold later. He told me to do all that to the stock engine would be 600 in parts plus 8 hrs of labor which would be the same as 2700 for the evo ii engine. My question is what do you guys think I should do?? Personally, I would rather have the evo II engine so at least I can get something out of this financial mess I've gotten myself into.
Also, if I do get the evo ii engine, I was wondering what my next upgrades should be since I will be running the 16G. My upgrades so far are: K&N filter. UIC piping, Greddy BOV, and a safc that will be installed with the new engine.
My planned path would be boost gauge, egt guage, afm, PocketLogger, intake pipe, Extreme 3" dp and high flow cat and thermal catback. I was also thinking about a dejon tool super big or supra smic or maybe a fmic.
Please let me know what you think, and thanks in advance for you help,
Josh
