new crank pulley cause belt squeal an chewing???

hey i just installed a aftermarket crank pulley, and i it was a little smaller then stock so the belt that goes to the water pump and alt was a little longer so i rigged up a tensioner for the alt and all was tight, and it would squeal and some times the noise would go away then come back, then i notices the squeal got constant and saw some chewing on the belt (mind that its a loud and obnoxious squeal), so then i tryed to rig somthing else for the tensioner would appeared to work great, but still squeal, then while driving i revved real high and it went away, i pulled over and popped the hood and saw the belt had flipped 180 degrees around with groves facing up no clue how the heck that could have happend, im not sure what needs to be done or what to do to stop , its embarressing to drive around

Alot of the times its probs with the after market pulley's. Also with those you usually need a belt that is 1" shorter. Did you get shorter belts?

i didnt get a one inch shorter belt , so you think my pulley is messed up?

also i dont have the ac hooked up the aftermarket has a spot for the ac belt i just never hooked it up cause i did ntwant the ac any more , would this cause the squeal too?
