hey i just installed a aftermarket crank pulley, and i it was a little smaller then stock so the belt that goes to the water pump and alt was a little longer so i rigged up a tensioner for the alt and all was tight, and it would squeal and some times the noise would go away then come back, then i notices the squeal got constant and saw some chewing on the belt (mind that its a loud and obnoxious squeal), so then i tryed to rig somthing else for the tensioner would appeared to work great, but still squeal, then while driving i revved real high and it went away, i pulled over and popped the hood and saw the belt had flipped 180 degrees around with groves facing up :hmm: no clue how the heck that could have happend, im not sure what needs to be done or what to do to stop , its embarressing to drive around
please help its my DD

Alot of the times its probs with the after market pulley's. Also with those you usually need a belt that is 1" shorter. Did you get shorter belts?

i didnt get a one inch shorter belt , so you think my pulley is messed up?

also i dont have the ac hooked up the aftermarket has a spot for the ac belt i just never hooked it up cause i did ntwant the ac any more , would this cause the squeal too?
