So I get my new ACT 2600 with street disk and fidanza flywheel installed.

2 days later I get the "phantom pedal"

1 week later I replace clutch master cylinder.

now I can't get into 3rd under hard acceleration. normal driving is NP, if im pushing it hard 3rd seems to be locked out as in it won't let me in

Also clutch engagment seems to be either halfway or slightly low.

Using GM syncromesh for the fluid.

Side note, what cars came with an LSD and how can u tell, and what if any will drop into my 96 GST ? Asking cause im gonna search some junk yards for it.
Torque steer SUCKS :notgood: and I can't afford any built LSD.

Thanks guys :dsm:

Well as far as the LSD goes, they were only in the rears of some awd's. FWD's were never offered with an LSD and obviously the rear LSD won't find in a fwd tranny. If you want a cheep LSD just go with an insert. Some say they defently noticed a difference while others say theres no difference. Just remember with the insert you still can granade the diff with wheel hop. The best way is to save up for a real LSD. I recently installed a Quaife & even for the money its defently worth it, feels like a totally different when pushed at all. As for the clutch have you made sure the system is bled properly? Have you checked the salve/master for leaks? Have you tried moving the engaugement point slightly higher just to make sure the PP is totally disengauging the disk? Was you step height on the flywheel machined correctly? Did you properly bench bleed the replaced master? Are you still running the resevoir thingy or did you replace it with a SS braided line?

hmm... well that sucks on the dif thing  and an insert, im not familar with that term, but I can guess what you mean. Thanks for the info on that :thumb:

Bled 1 whole bottle through the system. No leaks from either clutch cylinders.
How do I adjust pedal engaugement ? The step on the flywheel, I've no clue it all came from Slowboy and I ordered them together for my specific car, don't know if the mechanic was supposed to do anything further, or if he did or did not.

Did not bench bleed the master cylinder /shrug I do have the braided clutch line from slave to hardline so no resevoir device anymore :thumb:

Thanks for the input :dsm:

As for not bench bleeding the master cylinder, not sure how bad this is. Maybe your issue is simply that. If you don't bench bleed it first maybe its not possible to get all the air out of the system. Someone with more experience with the master will have to chime in here. As for the pedal adjustment here's a link, the adjustment info is about 3/4's the way down.

Basically you want the upper adjusted to its level with the brake pedal & you want to adjust the lower so that the car starts to move with the pedal about 1/3rd the way up. If you have the engaugement point to close to the floor you may not be moving the PP far enough to disengauge the disk all the time, which you may find when your trying to do quick shifts.
