ok so i changed my clutch to a stage 2 southbend clutch... anyway... whenever i put the car in gear and start to let off the clutch... it makes a tapping noise... but once i let it out all the way... it stops.... also its hard to get into reverse, and no 5th gear at all... its a 1g FWD what could be the problem???

Need more details here.

Did you resource the stock flywheel to spec? If you used an aftermarket flywheel did you make sure it was for a fwd and not an awd? Did you check to see if you need to shim the pivot ball? Did you use an OEM throwout bearing? Did you replace your master and slave cylinders and re-bleed the lines? Did you bend any cables? Did you make any changes other than just replacing the clutch? Etc...

If the problem wasn't there before you replaced the clutch and is now there, the simplest solution is that you installed something wrong. Probably need to tear it back down and find out.

Not sure about the "tapping" youre describing, might just be a bit of chatter that will go away once you learn to modulate the new clutch. Regarding the difficulty getting into 5th and reverse, pull the boot off your shifter and examine the little horizontally mounted lever on the shifter base for play (this one has one of the cables attached to it), just grab it and see if you can wiggle it up and down vertically and if it is sloppy, you need new bushings which are cheap and easy to replace. Take a look at it, youll see what Im referring to.
Also, check the mounting bracket at the transmission and ensure that the bolts holding the bracket are secure and that the clips that hold the cables to the bracket are secure as well. These are the easiest to check and correct.
