ok im going to have a new clutch installed this week (ACT 2100), I know that there has to be some kind of settling period, right? I mean like take it easy for XX miles....... I need to take a trip this weekend (200 mile trip) which involves going through the "grapevine" (CA hwy. that involves a crapload of steep hills). My question is, What is the settling period, if any? What needs to be avoided? And is this trip going to screw up the settling of my new clutch?

Like I said, I need to take this trip this weekend, so any help I can get between now and then would be great..... Thanx

Also, I have read that replacing the clutch fork is a good idea.......is this a must on a car with 80K on it? I'm thinking it is since the clutch went out as well but I want to get some opinions. Also, I'm having a hard time getting a hold of the pivot bearing/fulcrum, since I probably will change out the clutch fork, is this thing a must as well? Should I just keep looking for it and wait till I find one?

I live in San Diego so if anyone knows where I can get the clutch fork and pivot ball/fulcrum for a decent price(and other performance parts, still have'nt found a good race shop since I moved here) please let me know.

I say no hard launches for 250 miles ... that's about it. Realistically it will break in after 2-3 days. Try and do a lot of accelerating and deaccelerating rather than highway driving.
