New but not New

I need to get some posts up to get back to not being new. I've been away from the DSM world for a few years but I am in no way new to DSMs. My dad was one of the 3 main plant managers when it opened up in Illinois back in 87 so I've been around these cars since I was 6 years old.

I've owned 2 1st gen AWDs, 2 1st gen FWD turbos, Conquest TSI turbo and now a 98 GSX. I live in the downtown Chicago area but since I'm building my car it's back in the Rockford area.

I'm not super out going but always happy to help with a problem - engines come easy to me so if you have a questions I'm sure I can get you an answer.

Welcome back then. It is never too late to be a gearhead. I own a bunch of cars but the talon has a nich of it's own. It is just a fun car to drive. I too am an engine person but being ASE, I can fix a buch of stuff, most of which I don't want to. My best business is hotrods, not my own. It sounds like have had some decent DSM's. What a treat to have a Dad that is into cars too in that manner. Tres.....

All cool man, say I got a question, would you happen to know if the awd first gen talon/laser/eclipse's had a return spring for the clutch pedal?
cause if so, mine is missing, ive been having clutch problems with my talon.pedal repeatedly it loses firmness and goes to the floor, and no longer works. what happens is,
I bleed the clutch and it works for about a week, then the pedal starts to shows signs of weekening and goes to the floor.
have any Idea whats going on.

any info would be most helpfull.

I had a problem like that on my 1st gen too - Mine ended up being a seal problem. I had to crawl under my car every couple of days and bleed the system. I feel your pain - I'll check the service books and see if it has a spring, I don't ever remember seeing one in mine but I never looked to see if one was there. I won't be able to check until Friday or Saturday when I get back home. I'll reply back to you and let you know.
