well like the tittle says!! i just finished the arp and cometic upgrade, so i put everything back together, and ran perfect ......@ idle.

but when i stared driving it around and do a mid acceleration, the car stared to sputter real bad like a "boxer " engine . so i stared checking for codes, and " Injector Circuit Malfunction" 41 came on.???

i have check the injectors clips and everything looks fine.

would this be a ecu problem???

help would be apreciated!

thanks!

I've had this problem before. I tracked it down to the injector connectors. Mine were old and falling apart. Even if the clips are there, the plastic tabs on the clips can become brittle and break off, preventing the clip from securing the connector to the injector. When they get loose like that that's when you get problems.. I went ahead and replaced the connectors with a set of 2g connectors that have the clips attached to the connector. Mach V has them in stock http://www.machv.com/fuelincon.html

Like everything else at MachV there is a sigificant markup. you can spend a couple of buch more and get 8 connectors rather than 4 by ordering the same MSD parts from summit.

A 41 CEL isn't usually an ECU problem. It's usually the connector, broken wire from moving it around, a bad injector or resistor pack.

thanks for you guys replies!!
i went ahead and check the connectors, remove the clips exposing just the cables with the metal "female" part that connects to the injector.

and i dint notice anything wrongwire still attached.

i replaced the resistor pack and no luck.

i am thinking on buying a whole wiring harness since i am getting soo fustrated.

any more advice or what to look for on the injector plugs??

thanks!

well i guess i am just gonna buy another engine wiring harness... i looked at the injector connectors and opened them up all the way to the plug and wire where is crimped and no sing of broken conection.

where is the ground for the injectors?? what ecu pin?

thanks!

Good luck with the engine harness. The usually problem at this point is the insulation is hard and brittle causing breaks as you flex it around. You could easily wind up worse off than you are now.

Get a multimeter, the wiring diagram and start tracking down the problem. The ECU pin outs are both in the wiring diagram and on the VFAQ site. With a multimeter it shouldn't take more than an hour or two to check out the whole injector circuit including giving yourself 15 mins to figure out what your meter displays for opens and shorts.

It didn't take me long to find an old post where I described the function of this circuit and how to attack it. I had the advantage of knowing what to search for and who might have written it. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251656&highlight=injector+circuit

mm......... so in other words if the insulation is broken on one of the injector cables, it would cause the circuit malfuntion?? reason i ask, because injector #1 i can see 1mm of wire since the insulation broke.

i will go and test those pins on that other thread.

thanks and ill keep you updated.

Once the insulation starts cracking the wire under it can start corroding and eventually you get shorts and opens in the wiring harness. This is less likely to happen in Phoenix where it's dry most of the time.

Let us know what you find.

*update*

ok car runs great now! i am pretty sure it was something in the injectors connection

but Now i have another problem!!!!!!! headlights, taillights , emergency lights, windows cluster lights WON'T WORK????? wtf?? i know the engine harness has nothing to do with all of the above? and i am prety sure i dint touch anything related, so i need help on that??

is there something in the engine harnesss that has something to do with headlights tail, cluster and all kinds of lights???

thanks!!

Not that I can think of. No blown fuses or anything? I'll check the wiring diagrams I have when I get home tonight.

i notice that all the lights work only when the car is running, but once car shuts off nothing works..............

i am trying to track down the wires, and if you got more input steve ill apreciated!
thanks!

yaaay found the problem!!!

ended up to be a missing wire that goes to the + batt! it was under the battery and the tranyy! i feel soo stupit! hhahahaha car runs fine now,

thanks to everyone that help out!!!
