New 4G63t Book

True, but that's a problem with almost any regular book based on a dynamic industry. Some of the data instantly goes out of date unless there are new editions published with different information reflecting this.

Yeah. They should print a new edition of it, although at this point I doubt it would be very economical.

I was also hoping that it would go into a bit more detail and give away some of the performance secrets that those guys have learned over the years; but for the most part it is just very generalized information that is well documented in countless threads both here and on other forums.

Still a good reference though... you can never have too many hotrod books. :)

(I absolutely LOVE the Banish books. I've read each of them at least 3 times from front to back, and I seem to learn something new every time I open one up).

Yeah, a second edition just wouldn't sell enough numbers I wouldn't think to justify a printing run.

It's tough for them to find a middleground between giving a background to the cars and how they work (good for the general reader), and giving the performance secrets that maybe the more technical-minded people are looking for.

Agreed.

This book should be required reading for anyone new to DSM's that has any interest in them other than just starting and putting gas in one.

I highly recommend the Banish books for anyone that has some general knowledge, that wants to get more into the technical aspects and math of exactly how EFI systems work and how to get the most out of them.

You should not have to explain that to a "Wiseman" with 3,000 posts and 5 reputation stars.
What are you talking about? He was explaining it to flexnuts02, whom he quoted in his response.
Does this book have performance torque specs? Any torque specs? Or is it moreso background information and not technical?

Same here.

I like having stuff like this to go through when you are sitting on the couch watching xfactor or amer idol. This way it doesn't feel like a complete waste of time spending it with your other half. ;)

I also occasionally learn something that I hadn't thought of or an alternate avenue of approach to a job or a build. Well worth the $10shipped for a used copy.

My mom found this at a local book I thought It was worth sharing goes beyond the How to build 4g63 engines put out a few years ago, quite a read.
