Hey I have a 1995 Esi with a blown motor. I coincidently also have a 1995 Neon with a 420A (single cam) I know the Esi is a dual cam but other than that I think if I understand right the engines are pretty much the same? Feel free to bite my head off if I'm wrong. I want to know what exactly I would need and how difficult it would be to drop my running Neon engine into my Talon? The Neon is an automatic and the Talon is a 5-speed.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Well basically they are the same motor, except that the head is backwards on the neon.
The neon all so, has a different compression from your Talon's motor.
I forget rather it is lower or higher compression, but it is because it has different pistons.

So if you swap the head from the Talon, it should go right in.

Yeah the only problem with heading out to a junkyard is that they charge for the parts they have in them. I can't really beat a free, running engine.

Swap the dohc head and you are golden. You will only be out some head bolts, and gaskets. The block is the same for the most part.
