needs pics for 225/55/16 please!!!

ok so i am purchasing some 16x7 rota slipstreams +45offset now i just need to get some rubber....i want to eliminate the most wheel gap as i can withount lowering TOO low... i have megan racing coilovers.

225/50/16 seems allright but to my taste is seems like not enough sidewall to hide the gap no? i was thinking of going to 225/55/16 or 235/50/16

if anyone has pictures of any of those tire sizes...PLEASE post them.... thank you so much

225/55/16 wont fit with that offset...i have rx7 wheels and 225/50/16 BARELY fit.

With those tires, you may end up hitting the suspension on the front and possibly the back as well as they are wide and going with that much offset, it may hit the rear struts. IF, you want to try to make it work, you can get some spacers but, going over 10mm may necessitate longer studs.

remember, messing with the wheel/tire sizes is a tricky issue.

too much offset and you may start messing up your wheel bearings and your tires will wear funny as the camber will be off.

keep the 'center' of the tire/wheel combo the same as to not upset the bearing load for your wheel bearings. (find out the 'center' of a stock wheel/tire combo and do a little measuring and keep the same 'center'

225/50/16 will cause the speedo to be off. you will be going a couple mph slower than it reads and will put more miles on the car than what it truly has

225/55/16 will do the opposite, you will be going faster than the speedo says as the tires will be taller. It will not be as much difference as stock combo reads a little high to begin with (makers do this on purpose as it makes the warranties go a little bit faster)

Mpg will be less as you will have more rolling friction.

Car will be slightly slower as you will have more weight at each corner due to having more tire weight.

Handling, in this case will probably be about the same.....wider tires will help with traction but lighter tire/wheel combo does the same.

If you want to use the rotas, use spacers and do it right by measuring and see what will fit before you buy the tires. Keeping that 'center' will save much hassel in the long run.

no it wont be the same thing. the 55 is 55% of the width, its Width aspect ratio. if the front number changes the second number wont mesure the same

and i know alot of threads on here that people say they have no problems with 225/50/16

most guys that run slipstreams get the 45mm offset too...like this guy and he has the same suspension i do

you have a 2g, and also i have coilovers and that means i have alot less chances of hitting the suspension because coilovers dont take half the space stock suspension does

You, my friend, are incorrect about that. the first number is the width of the tire, the second is the aspect ratio as a precentage of the width. Simply put, 225/55 means that the height of the tire is 55% of 225 mm. A 205/55/16 is shorter than a 225/55/16. Please know your tire number meanings before you type something you dont know much about.
