Needing Insight on Subframe/Lower Control Arm

Let's just say I was driving aggressively and somehow my control arm bushing popped out mangling the lower control arm and breaking the front driver's side axle at the CV joint (before the mounting bracket).

I removed both pieces of the front axle, and what was left of the control arm, but I was left with the pivoting piece attached in the picture below.

I haven't tried removing it yet, but I just thought I should ask before I try. Can this piece just come out itself, or by the picture can you tell that I may have to replace the entire front sub-frame (SIGH)?

That piece should be able to come out by itself. It's held in by a thru bolt and a nut. Once you get those off, that piece should slide out.

Yeah that's just the front pivot of the control arm. Jus remove it. One suggestion I've found out the hard way. Don't replace youre control arm with a Dorman control arm! They are non serviceable! Energy suspension bushings will not fit them ( too lose) and no after market ball joints will work with them either (too lose as well, unable to be pressed into place). The welds are skimpy and scarce! Really unsafe looking! Spend the big bucks and get a Raybestos control arm (practically OEM quality and 100% servicable and upgradable) or get an OEM arm from the junkyard. Good luck!

Thanks guys, luckily I have a couple of guys who have a DSM-oriented garage not even 30 minutes away. I'm sure they have a few junk cars lying around!
