Need some OPINIONS ON A FMIC

Ok guys, here the quistion: if im running on stock boost and stock turbo i have a 97 and belive its the T25, if i put a FMIC in my 97 eclipse GST would it make any difrence compared to the smaller chocked plastic tubed that go to the stock intercooler.

Personally I would upgrade the turbo before I went to the FMIC. The gains with it on a stock turbo wont be as marginal as it would with say a eIII16g. Bu you will notice a difference. I guess its just a matter of personal priorities. My self, Id go turbo first. Then FMIC.

i would get the intercooler, with a boost controller, and a boost gauge, and well bov cause of your crappy stock one 2g.

you can have a bit more fun with that little turbo with just these few things.

when you upgrade the turbo your gonna wannna turn up the boost and will need injectors and fuel control and pump to go with it.

I'd do the fmic first, that way when you get a bigger turbo it will keep cool

FMIC first so you can actually use the new turbo when you get it. Plus you can push the hell out of the t-25, it may blow hot air but if your core is large enough it wont madder.

As you can see the field is parted on which way to go. Its up to you. Yes you will see gains with the FMIC on the stock turbo, and incredible gains when you add a bigger turbo into the mix. The real question is, which would you rather spend your money on, and how far after would the other choice be. Pick the one you want now, they bith will add performance FMIC=less Turbo=more and go with it.

Either way, you cant really go wrong.

ok, after viewing your profile and pictures....i'm thinking you want a FMIC more for looks than performance. So your mods are intake and turbo manifold? wtf? Why not get a BOV, Boost Gauge/Controller, Upper Intercooler Pipes, Exhaust, and etc.....your car already looks good, why not give it some bigger balls with these above mentioned upgrades....check out the staged upgrade section and re-think it............

If you still dont change your mind and you want your original question answered, I'd go with a turbo first, not the FMIC.....your T-25 wont outflow your stock sidemount so whats the point?

I would do the turbo upgrade first to avoid a disappointing "that's ALL?" that would come with a FMIC and stock turbo.

Get the FMIC before the turbo. Get all your supporting mods before your turbo. So when you get your turbo you can turn up the boost, and not worry do you have the supporting mods to support the turbo.

i have to agree. ill proply get the FMIC first so when i do put on the turbo it will support higher boost.

I'd get the FMIC first. Of course its not really neccessary right now with the stock T25, but your planning for the future! Thats just one more (expensive) supporting mod that you will have under your belt so you'll be ready when it really comes time to for the turbo upgrade.

i must have been drunk when i wrote that last reply, After actually thinking about it while sober, i'd have to agree that "between the FMIC and turbo", I would go with the FMIC first. But overall, I would say get the other supporting mods first...ie exhaust, Boost controller, BOV etc...........
