Need some opinions on this GSX

So i've been in the market for a new DSM for about a year now and this is literally the first one i've seen up here that wasn't rusted out or just messed up in general. I had my friend go and look at it the other day (I'm currently up on the North Slope) but he doesn't know anything about cars, let alone DSM's so it didn't really help me out.

Before anyone says anything about the price keep in mind that this is Alaska and that RS's go for 4-5k all day. I sold my 98 RS with 115k miles and a grinding tranny for 4500 within one week of posting it on craigslist.

I get home tomorrow and i've decided that i'm not willing to pay more than 5500 or so assuming it is in good condition and everything.

Just looking for some opinions. I'm dying to get another 2g but just haven't had any luck. Everyone out of state that i've talked to isn't willing to ship it up here so that makes it difficult because AK has very few DSM's.

Oh and here is the VIN: 4A3AL54F1SE001782

Is there a way to check anything with just the VIN in regards to what it has eg: rear LSD?

Its in pretty good shape and has low miles, so you can build it but it is in alaska. As for the price you can always talk them down even though it is a dealer so that you can get a real good price

Not many pics to go off of, but it looks clean(except for those hag tail lights), and has very low miles and potential if I could see under the hood. Lol

looks ok but the price is way too much for 95 dsm , even if you are in alaska still the price is high. 5k if its in good shape is the right price imho

I would try to get my hands on that one. Check out the bay for strut tower rust though. First thing I'd do to it is remove those ricer tail lights.

Nice to find a low mileage survivor! Price waaayyyy too high. 5k max! More like 4k for a good price. Too bad its at a dealer. They will hold out for some chick spending her daddies money and daddy will just finance the whole price for his little girl,, then she will plow it into a moose or let her boyfriend drive it drunk and it'l end up trashed within a year!

Yeah,, if you do try and get it,, inspect for rust everywhere. I would imagine cars in Alaska have alot of rust issues. At 76k miles, there should not be too much wrong with it if it were maintained halfway regularly, and its STOCK.

Happiness is a clean, reliable low mileage dsm!

I didn't look real hard but I did notice a switch and button that I don't know to be stock installed in the lower portion of the dash by the steering wheel so you may check for hack job wiring.

The body looks pretty clean and that is low miles for sure....if it is real.

but is it throwing a cel? and it appears to be idling at like 1,500!

I sure hope that was a female owner with that playboy sticker and those tail lights.

So I looked at the car today and everything went fairly well but it had some electrical shit that looked like it would just be a problem. It had a pretty bad boost leak but other than that it was pretty nice. Shifted very smoothly, every thing worked. I offered him 4500 and went up to 5500 but he said he wouldn't go lower than 6500 so I walked away.

I know it's 2 totally different areas, but here in Tennessee I bought a 98 gsx automatic, for 6k out the door. Car has 102k on it, engine only 20k give or take. Had documentation with it to confirm. Id definitely talk them lower.

Well i'm going to look at that talon today and if you're serious about that I'd be interested. Its got 70k miles and has never been modified.

From what I can tell, that key looks like it is just layed there not in anything, and that button looks more like a trunk release button in my opinion.
