Allright, Im in the process of selling my SRT-4 and getting a 2g dsm. Im going to be moving so the payments on the SRT are just to high for me. There is a good deal on a 99 GST about 120 miles away at a dealer. The GST has 60k on it all power options, sunroof, leather, everything and one owner with all records. I know a little about DSM's but not much. I really like this car and I kinda have to get one from a dealer because thats the only way I will get a loan. Now the problem is I need to get rid of my car fast and if I trade it in I can do that, because the payments are getting to be a hassle with moving. I really want AWD for better traction but i don't know if I can find one, and I want to know if you think with the mods I will list is it possible for me to run high 12's low 13's in the 1/4 mile.(With street tires) I plan on going to go with a big 16g with all the correct supporting mods for it. Will I be able to pull off high 12's low 13's on street tires with a 2.2 60'ft or is that too much power and I will only find decent traction with slicks? If I can run high 12's low 13's in the GST with decent driving I will be happy, If I find an AWD elcipse at a dealer I would get one but the chances are looking slimmer everyday. So please tell me what you guys think, I think just need a little convincing that the GST is going to be fine and fun to work on!

Thanks in Advance,
Lou

a GST on street tires is hard to get into the 12's. especially with that quick spoolin 16g, it will simply spool too quickly for ur fwd car and u will lose traction pretty early. if you want to run high 12's on a fwd with street tires then look into a 50 trim or a 60 trim, im sure you know they spool a lot slower and will benefit your FWD...also look into an electronic boost controller so you can set the boost low and then when u hit traction u can turn the boost up right away...sorry if you know all this, you seem like you know what your talking about, but im just making sure...

Yea, I kinda knew that with a quick spooling turbo it would be hard, but I didn't know really how big a "big 16g" was until now. Im starting to feel better about the gst, I don't think I need AWD it would just be a plus.

If you really want AWD, I think you should GET AWD or you will regret it later. They are more expensive to maintain, however there is nothing better than a AWD launch. Let alone how the vehicle handles in the snow/rain.
