Resolved Need some help installing Yoshifab camber plates

I'm trying to install a set of Yoshifab camber plates on KYB struts and having a lot of difficulty. I'm not sure if I have the pieces in the correct order and I'm not able to torque the top nut.

The attached pic shows how I thought it was supposed to go together, with the spacer placed on the strut shaft first, then the plate, then the top nut with the shank in the downward position and the hex at the top. However, in this configuration there is a gap and the plate can still move up and down between the spacer and the nut so I'm not sure if they're in the right order.

Also, I cannot figure out a way to hold the shaft of the strut so I can torque the top nut. Both the OE and the KYB struts have a D-shaped lip at the top which fits into the D-shaped hole of the OE top plate so you can torque it without the shaft just spinning. But the bearing in the Yoshifab plate is just round, nothing to keep the shaft from rotating. I tried putting a strip of rubber around the shaft and then clamping down with a pair of vise grips but it still turns. I tried using plastic jaws in a bench vise and clamping down as tight as I dared and it still turns.

Worse still, it's not torqued to spec but is torqued enough that I can't get the nut back off without being able to hold the shaft, so at the moment I'm completely stuck. I don't want to get aggressive with vise grips or anything that will damage the shaft. Certainly I'm not the first person to have this issue. I can contact Yoshifab but I wouldn't expect to get a reply until next week and I was really hoping to get this done over the weekend.

Any advice from experience is greatly appreciated.

Lisle tools makes a socket to hold the shock. is is a d shape socket.

Josh at Yoshifab got back to me right away (great customer service!). He suggested I wrap a serpentine belt around the shaft of the shock and clamp down hard on that with vise grips. It worked perfectly on the first try.

Reviving this because I have questions. I'm installing these now but I'm unsure if the order. Did you have it correct in your picture? Did your set come with 2 different sizes bottom spacers? Which one did you use. I feel like these should come with some type of instructions, even a hand drawn diagram would help.

I'm pretty sure mine only came with one size spacer. As I recall you tell him what shocks you're using when you order and he sends the appropriate spacer. Maybe extra spacers got added to yours by mistake? The spacer went into the bottom of the spherical bearing and and the shouldered nut into the top of the bearing. Once I was able to tighten the nut to the proper torque it all went together perfectly. Email Josh at Yoshifab for clarification if you need it. He responded to me quickly and cleared everything up.
