Whats up guy's

I just left the honds game(thank god)and i got myself a dsm...I loveeee everything about my car!!!!!! its just what i allways wanted..and deff worth every penny..ok i got a 1996 gs-t spyder with 90k miles.for $2200.the car is a auto and was owned by a old man..this car is in perfect condition!!!

Now what i wanted to ask whats the step's i should take on modding my gs-t?? just wanted some answers and some helpful tips on what to get and if i should think about getting a 6blot swap??

help a brother out thank's guys!!!

Make sure it's running 100% first I would do a compression test to make sure you have good compression across the board I think it should vary no more than 14psi from cylinder to cylinder someone chime in and correct me if I am wrong please. Also it's a good idea to do a boost leak test to see if you have any boost leaks. Also its a good idea to do a t-belt and water pump. I know from experience I'm on my second dsm because of neglect with the first one.

T-belt is getting done tommorow and water pump..I have the car in my garage..I dont wanna take it out till shes in great shape.thanks for the info man!!:thumb:

do a boost leak test ( search in here on how to do it) put good engine oil and filter after changing the t Belt and the water pump ( make sure that the timing is done correclty ) base timing set at 5 degrees.

change the spark plugs and gap them correctly , also dont forget to change the filter and the oil of your AUTO TRANNY. you have been warned about the filter and the oil of your tranny.

good luck and welcome and that's a good price for the car .

post some pics of it once you are done

cheers :hellyeah:

Do a search on what other people are doing. look at the top of the web page and locate Tech. when you click on it you will see upgrade paths. That should answer all your questions. I'm not trying to get on your case, but I'm a newbie to this site and I've been finding all my questions answered by doing a search. Take care and good luck

No problem bro also do some reading on the vfaq.com it will also help you out with maintenance and modding paths

my opinion is get a boost/vac gauge and compare to stock numbers glowshift. com sells pods for cheap 25$ i think go to pepboys get your autometer boost/vac gauge, oil pressure gauge, and when you have the money AEM wideband a-f gauge and once you have them compare to oem specs. also plugs and wires if you are basically stock id run the oem copper core plugs and gap them to .032-.034
O and if you decide to turn up the boost i would not go past 15..

Congratulations on the new car. As mentioned, take a look through the tech articles and VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions. There's some great information there about free mods, maintenance, and little things you can do here and there to help make your car run as good as it can.

While you're here, just remember we ask you to use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Yours isn't as bad as some that I've seen lately, but I just wanted to remind you (and everyone else) that it does make this site (namely, the search engine) function a lot smoother. Thanks in advance!

Until the OP gets a logger, a boost gauge, and a fuel pump/rewire, boost shouldn't be messed with. Especially if he hasn't done a boost leak test yet. (BTW... ronron, you need to do that.)

Correct gap for the BPR6ES plugs is .028", not .032.

thanks so much guy's for all the info!!!!! here are some pic's of her...

Welcome to the DSM nation. Nice car and seems to be a good buy. Silver is a good color on these cars and boost is addictive. :D Like everyone has said. Read, read, read. Set a goal, make a plan and enjoy.
