I need some help and quick.....My engine idles fine but when I accelerate to about 2500-3000 I hear a clang and the engine shakes a bit. and I noticed that oil pressure is down. my question is what made ny oil pressure drop and what could the noise be it sounds like its comming from the back of the motor(trans side) I looked up rod knock, spun bearing, and then balanceing shaft problems but still unclear on what it could be. please help I am going right know to drop the oil pan and see if I can get any awnsers from that. More info when I get it.

thanks
Chris

well when I first sent this I guess it didn't go through that was around 7:30pm it about 8:30 and heres what I found: I didn't take the oil pan off yet I decided to check under the timing belt cover first. to my suprise I seen a little oil (enought to cover the front case around the bs gear and what not) I think to myself why I changed all the seals torqued everything right to spec. whats the deal? so I start checking all the bolts to see if they came loose nothing got one left the one on the BS .............barely hand tight I a guessing the the thread lock that I put on didn't hold and it made its way free. Could this be all? what kind of damage am I looking at? going to drop the oil pan just to make sure nothings wrong. please give some input.

thansk sorry it so long
Chris

drop the oil pan found some small metal shavings on the strainer and in the bottom of the pan I cleaned the oil pan out completly, sprayed down the inside of the block nice and good.(to remove any other metal shavings) I beleive that the metal shavings are fron the BS comming loose hitting the back of the block or what not. thats all that I can see it coming from. so I am going to slap it back together tomorrow fill her up and see what happens if anyone else has any ideas let me know before I put it back together.

thanks
Chris
