I made a mistake last night and by mistake posted this question in the interior/exterior forum.

http://www.dsmtuner.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=109347

That link explains pretty much whats going on. My car right now is quite a bit heavier in the rear, so the weight distribution would seem to be offset from 60/40. Of course I didn't take this into account when I bought these Tein S-Tech's, so now I need to replace asap with something else.

Also most camber kits in the $180 range are probably the same, huh? Sound rather expensive to me for a little bit of metal.

Thanks in advance!

If you really have over-loaded the rear that much, I don't think that you have any choice but to get coil-overs. Go with higher than usual rear rates and then use the height adjustment to level the car. Then get long bolts and washers and fix the rear camber (assuming that you lowered the car). Then get the car aligned.

edit: oh, and specify zero rear toe. This is not the default, but it's how you save your tires.

Jtoby,

Well I dunno for sure how much it over-loaded it, I'm just guessing cause I don't believe it should rub like that if I only lowered it ~1.4".

What if I were to replace the springs with H&R Sports? Theres a guy offering them for a reasonable amount.

What's a rough estimate of what the stuff in the rear weighs? The rear rates with H&Rs is about 260. So, if you have 500# of crap in the tail, the butt will be an inch lower than H&R intended it to be. That could be very bad.

Jtoby,

Hard to say, but perhaps we can add it up. There are 6 10" JL W0 subs, 6 way amp, capactor, all in a custom enclosure. Hehe I wish I knew the weigh of the subs, but I'm guessing at least 30lbs each? So with everything, I dunno maybe 250lb added to it?

I have some pics here, maybe give ya a better idea: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/535885/2

I need to get some free time and call up these spring manufactures and see what I can come up with.

It's just what a waste, I spent $310 on KYB AGX shocks, $145 on Tein S-Tech Springs, $50 to install both, $35 for alignment, and $10 in washers and blots for the rear. Aghh now to think of going with expensive coilovers is crazy to me. If thats the only thing to do, then I wonder if it would be just worth putting a bit more into it and getting a air powered setup. But then I have a extremely limited budget... perhaps I can get sponsored though... :)

There may be alternatives. Depending on the design of the lower spring perch, for example, you may be able to shim up the rear. Or you may be able to shim down from the top. Pull off one corner (after measuring the desired amount to raise the rear) and spend some time staring and thinking. Or, it may turn out that your OE rear springs will level the car.

Alex,

I second Jtoby's comment about coilovers. Maybe GC's since you've got the shocks already.

Who did your audio work? looks nice. I'm in Portland too.

switch the front and rear springs. the front should have a higher spring rate. thats my .02

Ignoring for the moment the different lengths of front and rear OE springs, I cannot imagine how awful the ride in a 2G would be with 150# front springs. And I've been in a lot of cars with really lousy rides.

On the bright side, at least the suggestion didn't involve spending money. I mean, it's not like we talked a guy who has too little front camber into buying a kit to take out some more, right? tee hee

i think those subs are more around 40lbs a piece but their website will give the exact specs. Thumbs up for the audio setup!
