toronto,
hey guys, I have the chance to buy a decent fmic, with piping included for around 350 dollars.
my mods are 14b 15psi, turbo back, intake just the basics.
should I even waste my time with a fmic? the price and quality is definitely right.
I'm kind of worried a fmic will be alot of hassle for little to no gains in the future.
I'm certain in the future I dont want anymore then 225-250hp, nothing big.
so is it going to be a waste, thanks guys

Thats a really good price for it. What kinda core, tube-fin or bar and plate? This will help out your hp and cool down your stuff. I say go for it. You will be able to tell the differnce. If you dont but it let me know ill get it.

I'm certain, if you reach this goal, you'll want more. Sounds like a good deal, get it while you have the chance.

well, my old talon had similar umbers and I didnt have the urge to increase them past that for some 3 months.
anyways I think im going to pass on this one because the piping is ghetto...
the pipe is no bigger then 2", and necks down to 1 7/8".

You will notice a big difference with an FMIC even on the stock 14B. I feel you could use the money wiser by upgrading your fuel pump, injectors, and FPR before hand though. To put an FMIC on with stock fuel really isnt the best thing to do IMHO. At least get a fuel pump and maybe a logger to watch over things. Keep in mind the stock SMIC has gone 12's on many occasions, so its not exactly a necessity (especially at your level), more like a nice shiney noticable "grill" on the front of your car. ;)

i agree with that last post.. if you dont really want to pump it up too much then run with either a stock SMIC or do a SMIC upgrade to something bigger and what you could also do is cut the inside of the wheel well near to the size of the SMIC and Place a mesh grill in there so it gets more air and you shold be good to go

350 for a FMIC and piping? id get it in a heartbeat, even if i have to search under the sofa for the funds. even if its not really gonna make a big performance difference, itll dam sure look good.

Are you guys in this for looking good or performance? Seems to me you guys dont want the best of both and just crap out just for being pretty boys. I dont advise doing it if you want all around sweetness cuse you dont wanna be looking all hard then have a little Si rip your doors, that just makes you look doubly stupid. 1: for trying to be all cool 2: for losing to a shitboxx  Remember them honda boys are gunnin for higher cars and most likely have power mods.

If you dont care about beatin other cars when they challenge you then great more power to yah but i like to have the abilities to blow past folks and also looking like a pimp :p

Heres my advice.. .not like it matters, do your thing...... but i would throw on a small fmic or bigger smic

You can get random FMICs all over the place like on ebay made by JR... His cores are supposedly really good and they are cheap in cost... All you need to do is make piping :)

In short YES always get a FMIC.... YES YES YES and YES.... Unless its from a starion or any other stock car not including the supra Sidemount....

2 reasons 1 it gives you power 2 it cools your car.... which is why you get power but anyways....

YES... there is never a reason someone doesnt need a FMIC unless they are planning to drive stock for the rest of their lives. :shhh:

So if this FMIC kit was 28"X11½"X3½", it would still be cool to put it on xcelr8n's setup which consists of basically a 14B and a turbo back exhaust? Some one obviously doesnt know about pressure drop.

I agree with MrBentley, it just seems like most people now and days are looking for a big shiney smiley face instead of something of performance purpose. :thumbdown Maybe some of you guys need to look into getting a GS and putting on of those front mount intakes on the front.
