need opinons on a 90 eagle talon.

OK theirs a 90 eagle talon awd 5 speed with only 95,000 miles on the car. well i called the guy and he said every seems fine there is no clunking in the drivetrain and it shifts fine. but he says the only thing wrong with it is that theirs a dent in the right rear 1/4 panel. hes only asking 1300 for it. so what do u guys think of it cause im might go and test drive it this weekend

1. I would buy it if the car felt nice to you, you can get the car a Salvaged Title and plate it, i am not positive as to how you go about doing this, but i know you can salvage cars and plate them, my friend has a salvaged 97 Camaro....

2. The 1st gear ordeal, dont worry about it, its a typical Talon thing from what i have seen in every talon i have drove in, not sure on Eclipses too but yeah anyhow, all 3 of my talons have to be basically dead stop to shift to 1st gear without any problems, all 3 of my cars are also pains in the ass when it comes to Reverse sometiems aswell *sigh*

There is nothing wrong with Talons at all, i just dont feel like paying 4k more for the Mitsubishi Name and Logo, sorry
(dont get me wrong, the 2g Eclipse spoiler owns the Talons, but other than that i would prolly take the talon over the eclipse just because i love the name and the ground effect styling on the 97-98 talons, ughhhh, i wanna do a 2ga to 2gb swap BAD!

If that is true, then here's your loophole. It's called a repalcement title. http://www.dot.state.wi.us/dmv/replace.html
It voids all previous titles. You accidentally loose the current "junk" title, then work with the owner to obtain a "replacement title" which voids all previous titles. You then transfer the replacement title into your name.

ok this is what im thinking. the car has a junk title right now, if bought the car wouldnt the title get transfered into my name and i could get a replacement title and just sign it my self because i own the car. and sense a replacement title voids all pervious titles i could then get plates for the car right? well the car is still for a sale and i would like it because i dont see many 1990 with less than 100K miles on them and this one have a lil over 92,000.

That sounds like a plan JPW. Just call your Co Clerks office, they take car of all titles and transfers, explain the situation, and they'll help you.

ok i went to see the talon with my friend today and drove it again. well when we drove it we took off really fast just to hear that awsome psssss sound of the turbo. i tryed to launch it but just ended up spinning all 4 tires, YES THATS RIGHT ALL 4 TIRES!! well my friend drove it and he launch it pretty good well it threw me back in to seat. Well when i took the car back i found out that the car has no title i thought he said it had a junk title but i guess it has no title. he said the insurance company has kept the title. i got the vin number could we ask the county clerk about getting a title for it....... god damnit i just fuking stripped out the bolt on my paint ball gun

Im not JPW, but Im his friend, he was using my computer to post, and his password got left on.. so ... heres my 2 cents..

I dont understand why the car cannot be titled, its in perfect driving condition.. I dont see how a broken spindle could make it un-drivable for ever.. it has been replaced and works perfect..

It doesnt have the usual smelly old car smell, the engine compartment is clean, it has very little rust.. (if any) I dont remember seeing any, except for where the paint was chipped in the back where there is a big dent, its no big deal.

I told him to talk to the people at the court house about getting a title, I dont see why it isnt possible to get a rebuilt, or a salvaged title for it.. The guy who owns it now has it stuck in his head that "its a collection of eagle talon parts, that just happens to be bolted together in a working fashion" and we could never ever, get a title for it.. but I think thats impossible..

Youre friend can get a title. Was the car totaled out by the insurance? if it was, all he has to do is take the car to the Licensing and registration department. Talk to them about getting a title. Usually you have to get it inspected, and they will tell you how. Just tell youre friend to go to the DMV or whatever, and to talk to them. There has to be a way to get a Title for it. If it's Drivable, and is safe to drive, and everything works, like Headlights, blikners, and such, then you should be able to get a title and register it and drive it.

Also if the tile was just lost, he can go and file for a lost title.

well all that stuff works on the car. i mean the lights and blinkers, like i said before the car would just need a steering alinement ( yes i know i cant spell) or maybe just the steering wheel centered, because when i drove it the car wants to drift to the right pretty bad.
