I've narrowed down to two. These two are pretty relatively light. I need your opinions on which should I go for. Should I go with 16" or 17"? Machiii.net has 17" Subzero for $550 shipped, Tirerack has K1s 17" for $179/each. Anyone have pics of either of these rims on your dsm? The wheels will match up with Koni/GC suspension on my 91 GSX. Thanks!

i saw both of these wheels on a white 1gb dsm, once the dude had the sub zeros, once he had the koseis, the sub zeros look better while koseis weight less.

Kosei K1s weight less? I thought they weight about the same.

Rota wheels = a bit too much offset on thier wheels if you want wider tires like 235-45-17.
It is almost always +45 or +48mm

The slipstream model is available in 17x8.5, +35 offset
The Torque model is available in 17x8, +35 offset

I don'T know for the Kosei, but their a bit lighter.

I run 17x7.5 Kosei K1's w/ 35 offset.
I also run the 16x8.5's w/ a 17 offset.

I like them both, although they are getting harder and harder to find replacement rims as Kosei stopped manufacturing K1's.

Come on guys, nobody run these wheels? WTF

In all honesty, I think both rims look plain/ugly. Have you looked at Motegi Track Lite's? They are kind of what you are looking for in performance but not as played out as the ones you've listed. Or the Konig Hurry's.

Of the two, I'd go with the Koseis.

I liked the K1 rims at first but they are starting to look rather bland and the powder coat is starting to go to crap near the break disks.

Since when? They're still available on Tirerack.com WTF

Hey 92awddsm, I really appreciated for the link. I went to almost every other places where they sell Rotas and everyone of them are back-order 2 gto 3 months. Then I went to the link you attached and they have them INSTOCK!!! :shhh: Anyway, the only color they had left was the steel gray w/ polished lips (the very same color and size I was looking for). I went with 17x7.5, 5x114.3 45+. Should be here May 3rd and it was $520 shipped! :rocks: Previously, I thought Machiii has the best deal on Rotas and I almost order them with 2-3 months waiting. Now that I found this, I'd recommand it to everyone. Thanks again! :thumb:

Neither is true with the Kosei K1's. Tirerack sold so many Kosei K1 wheels that the mold for manufacturing the wheels was worn out. The wheels are not currently available through Tirerack in the size and offset that DSM's require. Kosei is going to make more very soon, but they aren't going to guarantee the finish to be as smooth as the originals.
Tirerack is waiting to see the new gen of wheels before reposting them. Kosei is only going to make small numbers since they aren't remaking the mold so in a way they eventually will be discontinued.:dsm:

Interesting. What is the source for this information?
