Alright first of all I have a 99 GSX and i bought it in december of 2009. When i purchased it it was close to being stock other then exhaust, downpipe, intake, and coilovers. Im having a little trouble choosing which route i wanna go with the small build. Im hoping for at LEAST 300 AWHP but keep it reliable as it will be an occasional driven vehicle other then my honda.

I currently have a small 16g on there and thinking on upgrading to an 18g. and all the fuel mods, tuning etc and all to go with it. Im thinking on running 20 psi on either of the turbo that i decide to go with.

Current mods on the car
FP manifold
Small 16g (ported FP turbine housing)
ported o2 housing
HKS bov
HKS carbon exhaust
Megan racing downpipe
AMS boost controller
Punishment racing UICP
Godspeed FMIC

Things on the list to get
Fuel pump, 560cc injectors
Tactrix 2.0 cable
272 cams
and a few other things i cant think of atm

So if you guys could help me out and give me your personal opinions i would greatly appreciate it. I would like more help on the lines of "Would it be safe to run 20 psi on an 18g on stock block?" The car is very well maintained i bought it with 87k miles girl driven before me. Compression is all above 150 all 4 cylinders.

Heres a pic of the car i thought i would share
(looks a little different now that it has a CF hood)

Bigger injectors, smaller or OEM cams. I'd stick with the 16G. Don't put 272s on a 16G/300 AWHP car, if you don't know why you don't know how cams work. The stock bottom end will hold 300 WHP all day every day. You may want to do a head gasket and stud upgrade, but you probably won't need it.

I don't know what a Tactrix 2.0 cable is but you may want to consider getting ECMlink.

Also, if you go with a 255lph pump your gonna need an AFPR.

What size injectors would you suggest? How about 264/272 cams? Should i just upgrade from a small 16g to a B16g? As for headgasket and studs thats another thing i was gonna ask about would they take the minimum of 20 psi safely?

Tactrix 2.0 openport will allow me to flash my ecu from what i have read on it. And as for fuel pump im probably going with a 190

Probably shouldn't make a recommendation without knowing what something is, try Google.

The Walbro 190 or 3kGT VR4 pump will suit you fine.
Do not go to a Big 16G unless it's an Evo 3 Big 16G, and even then, the Small will support 300 WHP just fine, stop trying to spend money.
264/272s are better than straight 272s, but OEM will work just fine. Again, stop trying to spend money.
"Safely" is relative, by the sounds of it you'll probably be wanting to change the head gasket at some point soon anyway. If it was me, I'd run it stock - all the while putting money aside for the head gasket, timing belt and water pump - until it blows or it's time for a timing belt, then replace it with a proper gasket and hardware.

If you want to blow money, ignore everything I say.

Well im just a little afraid i wont reach the 300 awhp mark with the small 16g cause ive read it a few times on here that is why i wanted to upgrade. As for the timing belt water pump etc i will be doing all the maintenance before the end of winter just to be safe

And i do not want to blow money on things i dont need that is why i posted this for help and opinions and i appreciate the help your giving me

Then do the HG/studs while you're doing that, no reason not to.
You can hit 300 WHP on a Small 16G. Moreover, you already have it, so use it until you've maxed it out. If you still want more, upgrade then.

Yeah you are right ive never had the car tuned on the small 16g to make the decision in upgrading. I should just wait finish all this up get it tuned and then if im not satisfied upgrade like you said. Thanks allot :thumb:

stay small 16g if this is purely a street car that you only want 300hp out of

you will want and love the quick spool.

stock cams would be fine, 264s would be nice if u got money burning a hole in your pocket...

not needed tho
