I'm looking into buying an o2 housing soon, and I was set on a ported 2g, but I was thinking about getting one that dumps. Just wondering what are the benefits of the dump, and do I have to run a pipe out the side of my car, or can i just dump it into the air. Also give me your opinion on what you would run for a street car/daily driver, but not full race. The most boost i will ever run is 18lbs on a 14b or 16g. Thanks.

One that dumps will most likely help eliminate boost creep. But on a 14b or 16g you shouldn't have a problem with a nicely ported 2gO2 along with a nicely ported turbo. I've ran 20+ on a 16g and 19c with a ported 2gO2 and worked fine.

Here is a link to an explanation of boost creep and how to cure it: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1169130#post1169130

A dumped O2 housing on a car with an internally gated wastgate will only create noise. It can help a little bit with boost creep, but curing that is solved by properly porting the wastgate passage. So the benefits would be noise :coy:

Thats what I thought, I heard that it made your turbo spool louder. So can anyone answer if it has to be piped or if it can just be dumped.

Oh sorry LOL! YES, you do need to pipe it and get it out of the way of wiring by the radiator or the exhaust can melt those and anything nearby. So you need to have the pipes going far enough away from anything you dont want to be melted in half. Some guy on here melted a ton of wiring right in half because he didnt have a dump tube :sosad:
