I have a huge boost leak coming from my intercooler piping. The problem is that there is not enough room between the radiator and the core support for the piping to fit through, so I made some of the piping oval, and now the coupler is not sealing right. Is there a flexible type of piping I could use? If so, can anyone send me to the right place? Thank You.

You need longer coupler or a custom pipe. With intercoolers you just need play some tetris and get it all up in there nice and tight. This is where your creativity will come into play.:thumb: where did you get the fmic from and piping?

Pics? And please tell me you're not referring to the cold-side piping...you're more than likely supposed to enlarge the space in between the core support and the radiator in order to fit the intake piping through there.

I enlarged the space between it, I just couldn't get enough of an open space, I can post pics soon. It's Punishment racing short route intercooler and piping.

x2 for pictures of the space

I think you have the Punishment FMIC confused with another FMIC kit (Short Route). Because PR only has a long route FMIC kit, that I'm aware of.

I consider that long route and VRSF as a short route (thru the radiator support).

^ Then what's its called when it goes through the SMIC hole? ;)

I have the FMIC short route which DOES go through between the radiator and cor support area. I will get pics tomorrow after work when it's day time.

Have you considered drilling the hole out a little to make it circular for a perfect fit? Also have you thought about making some modifications to the piping by maybe making a custom piece that goes through there that goes from circle to oval to circle again? I am not sure what length of pipe you have but either of these options should fix the issue without truly destroying anything.

I originally tried making that piece of my intercooler pipe oval, but I must have bent the end by accident also.

I attached some pictures, but Idk if they will help any other then give the general position it's in.

keep cutting away metal from the car until it fits. If you bent the pipe you have to replace it.
Your car looks like its in pretty rough shape overall..poor thing

STOP CUTTING NOW!!! You have pipes and couplers in the wrong spots

This is exactly how it's supposed to look and in your pic the pipe with the bov is upside-down and you have the wrong couplers connecting it

He does not have the FMIC kit that is pictured. The pipe that is ovaled is like 3-4 inches long before the next blue coupler which doesnt match and the UICP is clearly different. Could be a punisment core but the piping is not.

The FMIC I have doesnt look like that one in the picture... its different... more like this one.. just not the same piping.

It works great, Just having massive boost leak from that one spot... I guess I will just replace the pipe and make it fit without bending it. And under the hood is a little rough, but I will be cleaning it up and painting it when I do another motor swap next summer... I seen a tint of blue in some smoke when I get on it.

I bought it off somebody from here, but my history isn't showing that far back?
