need help

I have a 99gsx and last night after work I turned my car on to warm up to head home. The car reached operating temperatures but the heater wasnt working. Its blowing out air its just not hot. What could cause this. Is this possibly just a bad fuse or relay?

Does the fan blow air at all? If yes, then your electrical is fine. Next would be the cooling system itself.

1. Air in the cooling system that needs bled out.
2. Clog in one of the coolant lines going to the heater core.
3. Heater core was bypassed or removed by previous owner.

Is your car over heating at all? You might want to check with your thermostat, heater core and (hopefully not) head gasket. Also check your coolant levels.

It could also be the temperature dial where u turn it from high temperature to low temperature (blue to red).

How long is the drive? it could be that the thermostat is stuck open, it will result in the same symptoms you described. My Stratus did the same thing, it would only start blowing warm air after driving 30 plus minutes. Could be low on coolant as well, check that first.

Ok so it was only low on coolant. Weird thing though is that it was still at the same temp as always. I had gotten a little pissed off because i barely got it running yesterday. I should of checked the coolant.

The "air pocket" in the cooling system wasnt allowing warm air to blow into the cabin.

The Stratus was the same way, the car didnt overheat- gauge stayed good, only reason I caught it was the son was home for the holidays and was going through changing the oil etc, when I checked the fluid level, noticed it was low. I asked my son- hes the one who drives it if the guage ever went over to the ot mark and he said no, he was even watching it since he knew something was going on with it not warming up right.
