i have zero count of knock and my timing will show all the way up to about 43. it varies from 15 all the way up to 43. not really sure what to do..and i dont know how to check my base timing, to verify this timing advance is accurate..can someone please help me:talon:

To check base timing use a timing light (i believe you can rent one at autozone)

Please be more clearly on what your doing i.e...
*What your using to log
*What kind of driving (cruising/idle/WOT)
*What your talking about ROFL

It seems like your just trying to check your base timing and you wont be able to do that with a logger, you want to use a timing light...

Heres how to use one:

:talon::talon:sorry i am using a palm m130 with the pocketlogger setup. at idle my timing still is 20 im really confuzed on what it should be..i have read that at wot you shoot for 15 is that correct? also i have not checked my base timing..not completely sure on how to do this..tried reading vfaq on it..but still a little foggy. i cant post my logs, had some problems with the software..im still reallly really new to the whole data logging scene..any newbie help would be greatly appreciated

your base timing is 5* but on a logger it will show 8* at idle(750 not 1200) on 1g. You can check timing through the cam gears as well if you mark them so you can see. there is a vfaq i believe on this site somewhere. when your crusing around at part throttle you may have timing in the 30s-40s. Under full throttle at high rpm your stock timing will be in the low 20s if you have no knock.
