I'm trying to semi-tune the car. Basically for mods, I have an exhaust, k&n, walbro 190, and 550s. If I set my fuel trims to anywhere near 100%, the car bogs like crazy if I'm boosting but not at WOT. If I use the "use -10 for the settings across", my fuel trims look great but the car doesn't run good at all.

Basically I'm tuning using my logger, AFC, and a/f gauge. I know the a/f gauge is worthless but it helps to know whether your to rich/lean. Right now my settings on the AFC are up in the high 20s (-25, -28, -29). It's the only way the car will run half way decent.

I'm so lost.. Any ideas?

dont tune for fuel trims on WOT runs.. Fuel trim tuning is for low and mid only, pretty much just low. When you go WOT and the boost comes on what are the 02's reading on the logger? Any knock? Timing advance?

What are your low and high throttle points at? (I assume you're tuning with an AFC?) A very common setting is 30% low, 80% high. Anything 0-30% throttle runs on your low throttle settings, anything 80%-100% throttle runs on your high throttle settings, and anything in the midrange runs at a proportional average between the two settings.

I'll have to get a log and post it up. It's just strange how I much I am trying to lean it out in order for me to not bog. I'm going in the high -20s to get it to not run rich. That is more 650/680 territory. The car seems like its running okay though. I'm only running about 15lbs of boost right now.. I'll get a log for you guys tomorrow. :thumb:

How would I post up a log? Just for a quick rundown I did 2 third gear pulls and a 4th gear pull. On the 3rd gear pull, I had no knock from 3000-until about 5700 then I was hitting like 8-10 counts. Timing hit a low at 14 degrees at 3500 rpm but was steady at around 17-19 degrees. o2's were about a constant .89-.91.

4th Gear Pull
No knock until 5k rpm. Then I was getting 5-6 counts about 5k. From 5500 and on, I was getting 15-20 counts of knock. o2's were at .87-.89 throughout the whole log. Timing was 18-20 degrees until 5k rpm but then dropped to about 15-16 degrees until 6500.

Any thoughts? I know this isn't a great way to post it, but until I can get a log up, it wil have to work. Thanks guys. :thumb:

no its not.. 680's territory is in the -30% range

That's about where it's at. It's not to bad until about 5000 and then when it starts knocking.

I got some good advice from a future wise-man so I'm going to try that and see if my knocking goes away. :D

The knocking still hasn't gone away. It's like it stays rich through the log. I can't lean it out enough for some reason. There should be no excuse why I'm leaning it out ot -30%, especially on 550s.

I think I got it figured out. For some reason, my compressor wouldn't push out any air through the system but when I took off my leak tester, it would blow air. I had some big boost leaks. It made a world of a difference. My settings are now back to -10, -12 across the board. I haven't had much of a chance to do any logs but the car feels 10x faster.
