ok i just got my block back from the machine shop and now iam checking the gap on the rings everything is going good until i got to puting the oil ring in the bore when i installed the oil ring they felt lose now just to let everyone know i had the shop open my bore to 3.368 to have a .005 PTW because am going to run 30psi of boost

pistons and rings are for a .020 bore (3.366) and i have a 3.368 bore so its makeing gaps a little more biger than out of the box rings.

so is it ok to have the oil rings a little lose?
when i check it with the gauge i get .019 gap

what i mean buy lose is if i put the ring in the bore and use a piston upside down to even out the ring if i let the piston go it will fall down the bore pushing the oil ring down with it nothing like the top and bottom ring to were they would hold the pistons weight with no problem

According to the service manaul the oil ring gap should be between .0079-.0276 . So your within spec

That is normal. The oil rings have low tension. Unlike the 1st and 2nd ring, the oil ring does not need tension to do it's job. The scrapers locate on the lip of the expander ring which provides the outward force between the rings and the cylinder wall. The main job of the oil rings is to scrape oil off of the cylinder walls.
