How do i hook up this cheap data logger cable i got off ebay it has 3 leads im not sure where to hook them into somebody help please

ok then, being 3 leads, you will use the pins 1, 10 and 12..basically 10 and 12 get connected so your wire connects to itself in the sleave

yup one goes to pin 2 in the db9, and the other 2 which are shorted together go to pin 3. (or vise versa, get a db pin extractor tool at radio shack $3, its a littel red& white tool used to pull pins out of the db style housings. Switch 2&3 if it doesnt work the 1st time)

thanks for the help so far guys. should my cable have a red power lead because mind doesnt.

no, mine doesnt..basically it has 2 wires..the one that goes to pin 12 also jumps over to pin 10, yours is like mine..so in short, no.
