I have a 95 gsx manual and it has a 6 bolt block 2g head. well aanyways my car over heats in i would say about 5 miles. i turn it on and then i drive it and theres kinda greyish whtiish smoke out my exhaust and my friend said it shoots flames once in a while. Well anyways also it is starting to leak oil through the valve cover gasket and through the oil dipstick also the coolant overflows and boils. Well another thing is i try to cool it down by turning on the a/c to hot all the way on but as soon as it starts to overheat the hotness goes to cold. I did a compressin test awhile back but i dont know if those are accurate anymore but they were 150,150,140,150 but yeah thats basicallly what happens with the overheatiing but another thing im worried about also is im accelerating and with barely any boost building up it seems like the whole engine "detonates" and it starts to shake hard until i take my foot off the gas. Well yeah theres also a wierd smell that i smell once all of this happens so if anyone can help me asap that would be great!! PS i just ordered a stage V head from slowboy racing so im switing heads.

Well by the sounds of it, you have a blown head gasket. This would account for the white smoke, overheating and sending coolant to the overflow. Are you sure you are detonating or knocking? A blown head gasket can cause knock. I think once you change the head gasket this will take care of your problems. :thumb:

I was gonna say that without coolant in your cooling system it would take LESS than 5 miles to overheat, but its apparent now that you have a Blown Head Gasket.

The studdering problem you mentioned sounds like an ignition problem.

Once you get the HG fixed, you'll have a chance to eliminate it by redoing your UICP coupling, vacuum hoses and ensuring there are NO boost leaks and with the cylinder head off its a great time to change your plugs/wires.

Good luck

Your engine studdering aon accel is another symptom of a blown head gasket. The cylinders where the gasket has blown out are leaking compression and misfire. With all three of my blown head gaskets, the engine would stutter just as yours. replacing the gasket cured the ignition problems. The wierd smell is probably the scent of hot or burning antifreezeOMG . Yet another symptom of a blown head gasket.

hey everyone i did a compression check today again. I got from left to right,.....80,85,65,80psi and when the car does the detonating or knocking it chakes REALLY hard like if the engine was about to explode. Thanks for the repliesl, ps im about to do a leak down test. if you guys know of any other tests i can do tell me please asap!
