Hi everybody, ive been searching everywhere and i cant seem to figure out how to set the global and deadtime for my injectors im logging LTFT Lo and LTFT Hi and there both saying 12.5% and they wont changed no matter if i change the global or deadtime setting. Im following dsmlink guide to the best of my understanding but cant seem to figure it out,so if someone can point me into the right direction that would be cool, thanks in advance.

I've read some of those. Generally they say you can tune idle and cruise either way, but that if grams per rev are in the expected range then it would be perfectly acceptable, or even preferred to adjust deadtime and global to get trims in check.

I try to not get to hung up on AirFlowPerRev. It varies a lot, and is damn near impossible to get dialed in if airflow is out in left field to begin with. If you set global and deadtime to what they "should" be based on your injectors, base pressure, and fuel type... you can concentrate on the airflow sliders and get really close. You can then go back and fine tune the DT (or global in rare cases) if you need to.

OK that's my problem, mine doesn't change they both stay at 12.5% no matter what I change.

Sounds like your trims are maxed out. Reset the fuel trims with the car running (under the "ECU" menu), and watch to see what CombinedFT does.

You are running too lean, or your car is still too cold to compensate.

I would reduce the global a few percent.

The car is fully warmed up when I log (194 degrees when driving and around 204 parked). My global is -31 and deadtime is 315,so go like -38?

All my settings are at zero (fuel trims, timing, and airflow sliders).

OP - You are on a 2G ECU/motor with FIC 650cc injectors, running pump gas...correct?

If so... set the global to -35.8%, the deadtime to 210us, and then forget about them for a while. Get the car up to operating temperature, and adjust the airflow sliders to get the fuel trims in the ball park. If (STFT + the current LTFT) is negative, remove that amount of air at the MAF point you are running. If it's positive, add airflow at that point. Continue this process under various operating conditions (MAF points) until trims are in line.

I just noticed you are on version 2.5 of DSMLink. I HIGHLY recommend you upgrade at least to V3 Lite. It's more than worth $195, if for nothing more than the helper dialogs and tools.

Yeah correct (91 octane). What do I need to log to adjust the airflow?

It's funny you have FIC 650 injectors because I have the same ones. The V2.5 user guide says: FIC 650 -31% 315, but the quickie setup guide in the wiki says: Fuel Injector Clinic (FIC) 650 / -31 210.

I started a thread on that on ECMtuning forums. Basically I was told those aren't steadfast numbers carved in stone.

Yeah I saw that too but I tried both 210 and 315 and no change.

That sounds familiar. :)

The numbers on the wiki have been contributed by users over the years, based on what worked best in their cars. I used the calculator in V3 which gives an ideal global of -35.8%.

Either way, 4% of global and +/-100 on deadtime won't make that big of a difference at this point. Once the trims are back within reason, you can tweak it a bit if needed.

So basically just start adjusting the air and fuel trims?

OK guys thanks for your help.I'm sure i'll eventually figure it out.

Adjust the airflow, which will bring the fuel trims closer to where they should be.

If you post up an idle log with the car warmed, we can take a look at it and give you more help. Just add the log file to your post with the paper clip icon.

Ok ill get one later on tonight .

Here's one.

I have fic 650's and my deadtime is at 115, you just gotta play untill you get the results your looking for. Read the link I posted earlier, it gives some good pointers, or pm Corey on here (gofer) he's a ninja when it comes to helping with tunes.

My only problem is my LTFT Lo and LTFT Mid never change, so I don't know what to adjust the global or deadtime too, they just stay at 12.5% all the time.
