Need Help! Talon starts then dies

Hey guys, I have a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd and it will start for about a second then die. I had a friend whos a mechanic look at it and he cant figure it out. He thinks its an oxygen sensor or Ecm . anyone know what else i can check for?
any input is greatly appreciated .

sounds like a vacuum leak man, im not familiar with first gens but check your MAF(or vaf if you have it) connection.. if connected then check all intake piping if its a turbo, and check all little vacuum hoses around the intake...
maybe do a compression check on the cylinders..
is there a fuel cut off anywhere on those cars?

Vacuum leak or bad coil in your ISC. Check the resistances of the ISC coils. Resistance between the two center pins and the pins on each side of it should be 28-33 ohms. If one or more of the four resistances is very high, open circuit, the ISC is bad and will cause this problem.

I had a problem like this once...ecu harness was loose. Try unpluging it and plug it back in and disconect your battery to reset the computer...

i'm having a similar problem. My car died at a stop a few days ago, then the next day at a stop the car revs up and down and now if it stays startes it stumbles till i get going up around 2000rpm (feels like a miss).

any ideas ????
